Let's check out some of the forwards flashing some skill at the NW D1 June Showcase. These guys stood out as some of the hardest workers I saw as well as some of the most skilled players with size at the event.

[player_tooltip player_id='1450982' first='Gelonni' last='“JuJu” Ervin'] Garfield

Ervin has really settled into his game over the last year and continued to show improvements at the showcase. He was strong with his takes at the rim, had some nice contact finishes, came in hard on the offensive glass to keep plays alive, and even looked better shooting the rock from the midrange both off the catch and working with his back to the hoop.

[player_tooltip player_id='1587955' first='Parker' last='Mills'] West Valley (Yakima)

Just a freight train down low, he abused smaller defenders with some quick moves to gain the edge and then bullied his way to the rim. And if he caught it in close? He's a guy who isn't easily moved off his spots and shows good touch to go right up with it off the catch and drop it in the cup.

[player_tooltip player_id='1146666' first='Chamberlain' last='Burgess'] Orem (UT)

One of the top big man prospects I saw, Burgess is a 6'9 forward who shows a pretty diverse skill set. He made a couple of nice touch passes from the high post for assists, stepped out to drain shots from the perimeter, and showed a nice looking stroke at the line. He's also just a flat-out worker and was all over the boards on both ends.

[player_tooltip player_id='1146661' first='Trey' last='Hiatt'] Orem (UT)

He's a strong kid with broad shoulders and he wasn't shy about throwing his weight around. He was a bully when he got deep position, had good initial seals, and was quick to repost on reversals to seal off the middle. He even hit one corner three that I saw and was able to play with a bigger impact than his 6'4 frame would suggest down low.

[player_tooltip player_id='1598394' first='Dominik' last='Robinson'] Rainier Beach

Showed some good patience in the post and worked well either direction, mixing up his moves and using both strength and some quick feet to score in close. His post game continues to develop as he can grind out tough buckets or size up his man and go to work. He returns as one of the top big men in the state on arguably the top team heading into the winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2173016' first='Daniel' last='Jackson Jr.'] Renton

A freak athlete who loves to put his head down and get to the rack. Jackson has shifted from mostly a rim presence to a player who can attack off the bounce and play more along the perimeter. He'll get a chance to be a top guy next season at Renton and could be a big stock riser if he can build off of his play this summer.
