What 2025 prospects were the best of the best at the Ridgewood Shootout? Here are Ridgewood Live: Scotty B's 2025 Top Performers!

[player_tooltip player_id='1385299' first='Ian' last='Miletic'] (Rolling Meadows)

Miletic impressed in front of his future head coach Shaka Smart at Marquette along with several other assistants throughout the weekend. The skilled lefty small forward shot it well from both the mid-range and three. Sweet shooting stroke along with being able to attack with his size and improved strength. Threw down one of the nastiest dunks of the weekend. Good overall feel for the game and can pass it.

[player_tooltip player_id='2321396' first='EJ' last='Horton'] (Phillips)

Horton is a high level prospect that broke out leading his team to a 2A state championship as a junior. The first thing that stands out with this combo guard is his freakish athleticism. That was shown on both ends of the floor. Swatted several LBJ blocks. On the offensive end he is so explosive with his first step blowing past defenders. Really like how well he finishes at the cup whether it is in transition or the half court he seems to be able to slow things down to get the shot off he needs at the rim. Flashed as a shooter with his pull up game working well around ball screens. Mid-major prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='1545128' first='Dalton' last='Scantlebury'] (Lane Tech)

Scantlebury has been on our radar for a long time, but he really seems to be coming into his own. Strong and well built five that is in the best shape of his career. He has a great feel for playing down low. Seals for buckets on the regular, finishes out of dunker spot, and gets on the glass with a surprisingly good second jump. Nice right handed hook shot and is a solid passer hitting cutters on the move. Snatches rebounds with his strong paws. Mid-majors and low-majors should be on him.

[player_tooltip player_id='1385300' first='Antonio' last='Munoz'] (Whitney Young)

Munoz was outstanding in the Dolphins game against Lake Forest. The state's #2 prospect does a number of things that will translate immediately to the next level. Munoz impacts with a high-motor on both ends of the floor. Can defend on the perimeter and block shots. Offensively he plays best in transition where he can use his elite athleticism. Did a nice job in pick/roll situations finishing with dunks. Rebounds well and can put it on the deck.

Hudson Scroggins (Lake Forest)

Scroggins might have been the breakout player of the weekend. Coming in as a relative unknown to a lot of coaches they were buzzing about him all weekend. The 6'7” lefty face up four is extremely skilled. Plus shooter that knocked in shots on the regular from three spotting up along with crisp one dribble pull ups elevating in the mid-range over and over. Can score with touch around the hoop along with dunks out on dump offs. Rebounds well, blocks shots, and overall has an efficient game. Low-majors and high D2s get in now!

[player_tooltip player_id='2326960' first='Tyreek' last='Coleman'] (Waubonsie Valley)

Coleman was absolutely electric on the first night of the event with the way he ran his team along with finding his spots to score. Burst with the ball in his hands getting downhill. Such great speed and acceleration in both the half court and transition. Slick ball handler that can manipulate in ball screen situations making nice decisions pulling up as a shooter, turning the corner to the rim, and being effective kicking to his opponents. Also found his roller for several easy dunks. Moves laterally defensively staying in front of his man and causing havoc on that end. Mid-majors are clamoring over him after a strong June.

[player_tooltip player_id='1385293' first='Bryce' last='Heard'] (Homewood Flossmoor)

Heard is the top ranked 2025 wing in the state. He is a big and strong wing that was the only consistent scoring presence for HF in the two games we saw. Shot it well from three and was a crisp pull up shot maker in both games. Strong driver that got down the lane for physical finishes through traffic. He is the clear leader of the defending champs. We will have an update on his recruitment in next couple days heading into July.

[player_tooltip player_id='1766464' first='Anton' last='Strelnikov'] (Lake Zurich)

Strelnikov along with Scroggins created a ton of buzz among college coaches. The big man is super skilled. He can score against taller, longer, or quicker opponents. Very consistent game in and game out. Seals on the block, hooks, spin moves, and plays physical through his man. Will get offensive rebound put backs and can stretch with his shot. Also was solid as a shot blocker over the weekend. Emerged as a legit low-major prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='1766506' first='Leshawn' last='Stowers'] (Peoria)

Stowers is a player we were not able to see play in the spring so this was our first eval of him since the season ended. He is a big bodied small forward that plays on the ball for his team. What impressed us most was his three level scoring prowess being able to knock down shots from three at a good rate along with creating in the mid-range. Does a lot of his damage creating his own jumper. With his physical frame he can really get downhill going through defenders in the paint for scores and fouls. Showed some secondary passing instincts and rebounds well for a wing. Mid-major plus guy that will make a leap into the top 10 in our next 2025 update.

[player_tooltip player_id='1545133' first='Makai' last='Kvamme'] (DePaul Prep)

Kvamme is a winner and dude that just gets the job done. He is the leader of DePaul Prep and it clearly shows on the floor. As a scorer he is creative with the ball getting in the lane for soft touch under the rim finishes along with being able to shoot it pretty well from three off the bounce. Gets to the line at a solid clip and his ability to run a team in the half court is excellent. Anticipates well on the defensive size creating turnovers and flies around on the defensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id='1385287' first='EJ' last='Breland'] (St. Patrick's)

Breland got off to a big start against New Trier with his shooting. The lead guard's biggest value is in his shot making. Clean release and puts a lot of arc on the shot. Deep range beyond the three point arc along with mixing in crisp pull ups. Fluid athlete that showed flashes of mid-major upside in that first half.

[player_tooltip player_id='1545123' first='Sean' last='Reynolds'] (Dekalb)

Reynolds is a flat out bucket! The Dekalb wing can really shoot the basketball from three. One of the better pure catch and shoot guys in the class. Quick release off the catch with consistent mechanics. More than just a shooter he mixes in floaters and runners scoring in the lane.

[player_tooltip player_id='1766460' first='Al' last='Brooks'] Jr (Rich Township)

Brooks has a really solid outing against Marist on Saturday. The long and lanky transfer from Hansberry is a problem in the open floor. Pushed it in transition where he threw down big dunks, utilized euro steps, and had several nice dishes finding teammates. The athleticism and upside is there. It is just about continuing to round out his game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1385292' first='Phoenix' last='Gill'] (St. Ignatius)

Gill is a Northwestern commit that played the single best game of his career when we saw him Saturday against Niles North. The shooting guard wasn't settling for the jumper as from the beginning he came out under control while still being aggressive attacking downhill. Got to the rim over and over again finishing at an efficient rate around the basket. Made trips to the foul line and passed it well in the half court as a secondary playmaker. Also hit a pair of threes in a 31 point effort. Followed that up on Sunday with a solid performance against a tough DePaul Prep defense where he again didn't force tough shots and got to his spots inside.

[player_tooltip player_id='2105209' first='Reid' last='Olson'] (Niles North)

Olson is an absolute dynamo on the floor! He has a ton of energy and juice that translates over to his team. Super deep range from three. Like literally you need to guard him from half court or he will pull on you! High level shot maker that takes some questionable shots at times, but hey they do tend to go in. Crisp ball handler that can get to his spots for mid-range pull ups, off balance floaters, and showed solid passing over the weekend. Low-majors should take a look here.

[player_tooltip player_id='1545120' first='Marcos' last='Gonzales'] (Brother Rice)

Gonzales was excellent against Marist on Saturday night recording 16 points making it look easy. The two guard has nice size and a well-rounded offensive game. Did hit a top of the key three, but the majority of his damage was done with his fluid handles for scores in the paint through and around defenders often going for and-1s. Strong ball handler that got to where he needed to operate and displayed secondary passing instincts.

[player_tooltip player_id='1385283' first='Aleks' last='Alston'] (Kenwood)

Alston shot lights out against Antioch. They were not challenge in that game, but when he shoots like that he is pretty much unstoppable. The 6'9” power forward hit four triples in the 17 point outing on Sunday afternoon. Clean and free release. Also hit several step backs along with a big dunk to cap it off at the end. Would still like to see him be more assertive off the bounce and working in the mid and low post, but when his shot is on like it was in this game let it fly!
