Dadlani was able to show a nice mid-range game all day long. Sharp-shooting guard Ryan Gornto added 13 points in the win. Ryan connected on some bombs from downtown and showed good selection all weekend long. Steve Achille was very active on both ends of the court with his play around the paint area. Head Coach Kenny Gillion and his squad received a balanced scoring attack here today. Post player [player_tooltip player_id='1633067' first='Marcis' last='Ponder'] was a force inside with his size and some powerful dunks to lead the way. Ponder finished with 18 points and several rebounds. Marcis a Miami, FL native plays with Overtime Elite. Teammate [player_tooltip player_id='2134650' first='Jayden' last='Joseph'] a shifty playmaking guard added 14 points in the win. [player_tooltip player_id='2134664' first='Willie' last='Burnett'] a very athletic wing player finished with 10 points.

Aaron McGee rounded out the scoring with 7 points. PHPS received balance scoring from [player_tooltip player_id='1384823' first='Jaden' last='Spears'] with 15 points, [player_tooltip player_id='1530543' first='Taylen' last='Goodman'] 13 points and [player_tooltip player_id='1772927' first='Shabol' last='Barksdale'] adding 12 points. Spears who has recruitment from Fresno State and Sacramento State was able to set the tone at times today. Spears made heady decisions and big buckets down the stretch. Jaden will play this coming season at Sacramento HS after transferring out of Sheldon HS.

Goodman was able to finish around the rim at times from the wing position. Taylen always seemed to be in the right place to make a play.

Barksdale was a force down low with his play today and all week long. Shabol was active on both ends of the floor providing plenty of rebounds and a big dunk to seal the victory with 1:52 left to give PHPS a 65-53 lead. Barksdale is a freak athlete and a quick leaper while playing big for his size around the paint area. Shabol excels on the gridiron in the fall as a WR/DE. Barksdale plays at Sacramento HS where he averaged 11.7 ppg and 10.1 rebounds last season for the Dragons.

The Southern Kings 2025 had a great run all week long with some solid play from several players. [player_tooltip player_id='1300731' first='Bryce' last='Reynierson'], [player_tooltip player_id='1943464' first='Rashund' last='Washington'], [player_tooltip player_id='2471142' first='Marcus' last='Scurry'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2501240' first='Emon' last='Glenn'] were kids that stood out all week long.

Reynierson recorded games some big games this week for the Southern Kings 2025. Bryce finished with 26 points here in the loss to PHPS. He previously scored 22 points in the semifinal's vs the Kentucky Hoop Dreams. Reynierson will be playing this season at Augusta Christian after previously attending Lakeside HS.

Bryce really rebounds the ball from his position on the floor. He was able to finish around the rim on putbacks at times today and also by stepping out and knocking down shots on the perimeter. Bryce is a deceptive athlete where at times he was able to stalk the baseline and finish above the rim. He constantly made himself available around the ball all week long it seemed.

Washington was a workhorse for the Southern Kings 2025 all week long. Rashund scored 31 points in the semifinals win over the Kentucky Hoop Dreams and then finished with just 7 points in the Championship Game. Rashund really likes the ball in his hands as much as possible on the floor. He plays his best basketball going to the rim and getting to the foul line. Rashund is a strong finisher with a very long wingspan. He likes to get downhill with the rock. Washington has made the move over also to Augusta Christian for this coming season after playing at nearby East Laurens HS previously.

Scurry played a few games in his home gym here this week at Butler HS. The Bulldogs point guard finished with 11 points in the Championship Game after dropping 17 points in the semifinals game vs Kentucky Hoop Dreams. Marcus plays quick up the floor with his ability to touch the paint and get into the gaps. He has no problems getting the ball to the rim especially in transition.

Glenn is a bit of a junk yard dog with this game. Emon who plays at nearby Academy of Richmond County plays the game extremely hard. All of his points came close to the bucket on putbacks and efforts. He plays bigger than his listed size on the floor and has no problems at all being than hustle guy on the roster. Emon finished with 13 points in the loss to PHPS.

This concludes coverage from the New Balance Prelude Championship Games here in Augusta, GA.
