Explosive Players to Keep On Your Radar Post-Southeast Kickoff

Spring hoops in Georgia lived up to every bit of the hype this past weekend at Next Play 360 in Marietta, Georgia. Some players and teams turned heads each time they stepped onto the floor. It was a weekend full of nail-biting matchups, hustle plays, alley-oops, crafty ball handlers, and lockdown defenders. But we also can't forget the explosive players who made an impact on this weekend's tournament. Here's a list of some of the top prospects who blew away scouts with their explosive performances.    The first athlete that comes to mind when thinking of explosiveness is [player_tooltip player_id='3564507' first='Isaac' last='Sowemimo']. He was one of the most springy players in the front court this weekend. With his impressive size, he is capable of creating opportunities for himself both on and off the ball. At one point, Sowemimo had the gym erupting with cheers when he delivered a posterizing one-handed dunk over his opponent!   Check out the iconic dunk below. A highly-skilled shooting guard who has a beautiful midrange game. When you play for a disciplined team like [program_tooltip program_id='2076396' first='Tony' last='Bradley Elite'], of course, you need the guard play to match it. Well, Zimmerman led this team like a true guard should. He plays with active hands. He loves to get downhill with impressive court vision, and when he's firing on all cylinders, he's unstoppable.     Chappell is a key player for the Formula Elite 16U program. He's quick, shifty, and can shoot the lights out from anywhere on the floor. He's like a pest on defense, a good one of course. He likes to use his speed to wear down his opponents and uses active hands to disrupt the opposing team's offensive rhythm when defending. He's an exposive athlete who crashes the boards well. He plays with a lot of passion and is the X-Factor for the Riverside Sonics. Whether Joseph is diving for the 50/50 balls, cleaning up around the rim, running the floor for the fastbreak, or using his length to block shots and defend the paint — he's an athlete who does the little things that matter most.     Comeaux is long and can stretch the floor. I would describe him as a big guard with a crafty, silky-smooth style to his game. He has the ability to finish around the rim, and he has the height and size to out-rebound his opponents. Comeaux likes to pull up off the dribble and loves to spot up around the arc, knocking down the trey ball. He has a high basketball IQ, is smooth with the rock in his hands, has excellent court vision, and can play the 1-5 positions.     I have two words to describe Pharr: Rim Protector. He had a great weekend of cleaning up around the rim for the GCPC Stars 15U club. He crashes the boards well. He loves to fly around and bring heavy defensive pressure to his opponents. Not to mention, Pharr can also shoot beyond the arc if the opportunity is presented to him. He's another X-factor for the Stars, contributing big on both ends.
