The 2024 Wofford Team Camp started on Wednesday, June 12th, and will continue through Saturday, June 15th. I got up to Spartanburg, South Carolina to check out some of Thursday’s matchups including a few exciting Palmetto State Programs and a couple of other intriguing squads from around the Southeast. Check out these six prospects who stood out to me from Thursday at the Wofford Team Camp:
Ja’Kease Salley

is an exciting prospect who had a dominant performance in the first window of games Thursday. After having some struggles out of the gate, Salley figured out the Ferguson defense and was terrific for the rest of the game. He went for 27 Points, 9 Rebounds, and 2 Blocks. Along with his general efficiency which was quite impressive, Ja’Kease had several flashes on both ends of the floor showing just what his ceiling could be. Salley is extremely athletic, has a good handle, and a high work ethic, and as he displayed today, can take over a game and put a team on his back.
Highlights
Rickey had a couple of bright moments in Gaffney’s matchup with Pickens (GA) today at the Wofford Team Camp. He showcased his quickness on both ends of the floor, jetting past defenders with the ball on a string and making life difficult for his matchup with on-ball pressure. Littlejohn does a good job of recognizing driving lanes and will set them up 3 or 4 dribbles before anyone else sees them. He also displayed his ability to finish over long rim protectors with runners and floaters or around them with creative moves.
Ray is another Palmetto State Standout from Thursday at the Wofford Team Camp. Chapin had some trouble breaking down the 2-3 Zone of Highlands Tech, but balanced being aggressive in the middle of the zone and swinging passes to find an opening well. When he did get downhill, there was not a lot of space so Ray showed his handle in tight spaces and vision to find an open teammate. Tyson has two key moves that he can use to score over taller defenders: a floater and a pull-up jump shot. His ability to score and create for others allows him to be versatile in the backcourt and give opponents different looks. On the defensive end, Ray used his length to help force difficult shots and even tallied 3 blocks in the game.
Highlights
Chris had one of the most offensively efficient halves of basketball I have seen this month in a win over Marvin Ridge. He put up 21 Points on 7-8 FG and 2-3 3FG in less than 20 minutes of action. During this ridiculous stretch of basketball, Eagan was dominant inside and outside of the paint. He started off inside and finished over his right shoulder frequently, proving it to be a near-unstoppable move. Chris also showed his modern skill set, knocking down threes and taking defenders off the dribble going to the right. Marvin Ridge adjusted by doubling Eagan on the catch, which slowed down his scoring but allowed him to showcase his passing ability for the remainder of the game.

Elijah Sherrill
Elijah Sherill is one of two prospects I got to watch for the first time today in Spartanburg. He is a Guard who has a strong body and is a good athlete who excels at getting to the free-throw line. Elijah went a perfect 20-20 from the stripe in a win over Chapin but only a handful were late in the game. He got downhill all day long and put pressure on his opponents to either foul him or allow him an easy lane to the basket. Sherill also is a good passer and will crash the glass on the defensive end.
Parker is another prospect I was intrigued by. He is a skilled big man who is stronger than he appears and impacts the game in several ways. Davis has good shot mechanics, stays vertical in block attempts, works on the offensive glass, can make plays off the dribble, runs the floor, and has good floor vision. He had a full stat sheet in the win over Gaffney, going for 17 Points, 15 Rebounds, 4 Blocks, and 3 Steals. He could be in for a big Senior Season down in Georgia this fall.
