Even in the summer, the intensity jumps up a couple notches when Douglass takes the court. Among the tone setting leaders for Douglass is [player_tooltip player_id='1475987' first='Davon' last='Scott']. Always a sharpshooting weapon, Scott hit his customary big shots from deep while also leaving the goal shaking with a two handed slam and big time energy on both ends of the court. The energy is not new in his game, as "Scoot" seemingly always plays with his hair on fire. But the increasing vertical explosiveness was evident in the rim rattling dunk and a hint at the strides Scott can continue to make as a finisher at the rim. The 2025 guard is already a D1 level player thanks to his game changing shooting ability and his defensive fight. But continuing to mature into a well round scoring will add to his paths to find next level success.

Edmond North Reloads

Even after graduating the core of a squad that won two Gold Balls and a runner up finish, the Huskies are expected to continue to be strong factors in Class 6A. This week in UCO they're down a couple senior pieces and still producing. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2439787' first='Chauncey' last='Cravens'] was highlighted yesterday, today it's junior [player_tooltip player_id='2021906' first='Jonathan' last='VanBuren'] and incoming freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2677138' first='Jerrell' last='Copeland']. VanBuren moved to Oklahoma mid-season and was able to earn minutes on the Huskies' deep team. Now "Slim" is carrying a bigger load for Edmond North, with a mix of a bully ball game on drives and some micro-wave type scoring moments as a shooter. He has an air of unpredictability to his game, which has some good and bad moments. But there's strong potential for him to be a physical gifted and skilled scorer for the Huskies.

Lanky incoming freshman Copeland has shot it well from distance during viewings on both days for North. In an afternoon contest on Tuesday, he got it going more off the dribble. With smooth drives and finishes that displayed the high all around scoring ceiling for the lefty. It's been rare over the years for freshmen to play for Edmond schools, but Copeland looks to be a potential special talent who will break that mold.

New found confidence for Williams?

With Owasso coming off a Class 6A championship and an even more loaded roster this year, they're getting everyone's best shot this summer. With their star 2026 prospect at the Nike Top 100 camp this week, one of the players stepping up and embracing the challenge is 2026 Guard [player_tooltip player_id='1552362' first='Boden' last='Williams']. He shot the ball very well in two big time contests this afternoon. The shooting was one sign of his improved confidence, along with him being one of the Rams less bothered by ball pressure. Now around 6 foot 3 and starting to fill out, the Owasso Ram has looked the part of potentially one of the better guards in Oklahoma's Class of 2026. With a pivotal summer heading into his junior season, it seems like he's starting to walk the walk as well.

Rising Rocket?

2027 guard [player_tooltip player_id='2417120' first='Maddox' last='Hamilton'] is a flamethrower from deep. He was cooking in a Tuesday afternoon contest, playing with freedom and confidence. Which included some big time makes off the dribble from deep. His ability to stretch the defense, also opened up some opportunities for him to work in the mid-range. It's early days for 2027 prospects, but Hamilton is set for big time scoring games this year and down the road for the Mount Saint Mary Rockets.
