Wisdom has all the tools to be a first team caliber kid this fall. He’s very long as a defender and really shoots the basketball with great touch from anywhere on the floor. Wisdom has great handle for his size at wing and I’m sure after what he does this summer he will go up a few slots on the rankings. He’s a match up nightmare when you try to put little guards on him he’s great at all three levels and for bigs he’s too quick. Cardozo has a 6’5 monster on the roster and with a summer in the weight room he is surely to rise.
Fresh off a state championship the south paw from Largo has turned into himself into one of the fastest stock risers on my list. He plays with a chip on his shoulder which is evident when you see him attach the basket. Jalen shoots the ball from beyond the arc with ease and has a very nice touch on floaters around the basket. Defensively he is able to guard multiple positions because he’s competitive with long arms. Expect the end of the summer to have his name with the top guards in his class.
Highlights
The shifty guard is a true PG as some would say. Karon really knows how to run a team and you can see it with his play on the court. He makes other players better with sharp passes in catch and shoot positions. He does a good job off the pick and roll making great decisions to the big or the opposite wing. He will surely keep defenders honest going under the screen with his shot as well. Look for his stock to keep rising.
He’s one of those kids that just makes plays. You can’t find him when the shot clock is going down or the team needs a timely bucket he’s the guy with the ball. Malik has a solid build for a guard that allows him to make shots through contact in the paint. He has a dribble pull up that he has mastered and defenders are usually too small to stay with him after a shoulder bump. He plays very physical and likes to rebound as well which you love to see in a PG. He has a chance to really be special this year and those other 5 PG’s in front of him better be on the look out.
The Mt. Zion transfer is now at Riverdale Baptist where he has the keys to a plethora of good players. Riverdale fits the pass first PG who really does a good job of getting in the paint and kicking to shooters. One of his best attributes is his defense on the other guards during half court sets. Does a good job of fighting through screens and being physical on the catch with his match up. He’s great in the open floor and will have a great season at Riverdale.
One of the only 16’s playing up 17’s and you can’t even tell because he’s such a surgeon with the ball in his hands. He makes you pay for going under screens and finds the right play to make during half court sets. The shifty south paw has great foot work getting to the paint and great touch around the rim. Geremy is very crafty around the basket and playing him allows others to get easy baskets because of his IQ. Nothing seems rushed when you watch him play. I’m going to keep my eye on him and you should too.
Highlights
I first caught wind of Nasir last year coming to watch someone else and he immediately caught my eye with the way he attacks the rim so violently. He has great pace in the half court set and can finish around the basket with both hands. A true D.C guard who plays with passion that a lot of coaches love to see. He’s more of a combo guard in my eyes, but someone I would love to have on my team.
Highlights
The state champion is a big reason his team won it all and this year he will get to prove why he is one of the big stock risers in the class of 26. He is a superior athlete with a great motor on defense. JJ has really spend time working on his shot as you can see great touch on his mid-range pull up now. He was already a nightmare in the open floor, but now defenders will have to worry about his shooting the ball from beyond the arc. A real plug and play type of kid who does whatever a coach needs. You can send him to guard the best player and drop him low to defend low post players. If I know JJ he wants the number #1 spot and that’s surely in his sights if he keeps this up.
