Evans and Mills Will Carry the Load:
Kaleb Evans Kaleb Evans 6'3" | CG Lexington | 2025 State #243 Nation SC will really take over the reins of leader this season for the Lexington HS Wildcats. Evans the senior leader for the Wildcats will pick up his scoring production this season. He came out on the fire on the opening night here in Rock Hill and dropped a cool 28 points according to my unofficial scoring.
Sam Mills Sam Mills 6'10" | C Lexington | 2027 SC will get his turn to get plenty of minutes this season. Mills a big post player is currently running on the Grassroots Circuit with Upward Stars 3SSB . Sam does a nice job of patrolling the paint and has the ability to finish over both shoulders. Can the Wildcats win it again in Class 5A?
Oops now we have two Class 5A brackets this coming season.
Walker Came to Play:
D’ontez Walker D’ontez Walker 6'6" | SF JL Mann | 2025 SC made a strong impression here today with his first game for the JL Mann Patriots. Walker just a 16-year-old senior was great around the bucket all day long with his play. D’ontez started off his career at Woodmont HS before coming over to the Patriots. He has a great wingspan to score the ball around the rim. Walker already has a nice look to him and still hasn’t scratched the surface yet with his play.
Guards, Guards and More Guards:
Greer HS will rely on several guards this season for production this coming season. Amare Anderson Amare Anderson 6'2" | PG Greer | 2025 State SC , Jyssiah Foster Jyssiah Foster 5'9" | PG Greer | 2026 State SC , Isaiah Henry Isaiah Henry 6'0" | CG Greer | 2025 State SC , Mylan Hames Mylan Hames 6'1" | PG Greer | 2025 SC and Mikey Williams Jr Mikey Williams Jr 5'11" | PG Greer | 2026 State SC . to pack a punch for Yellow Jackets Head Coach Devin Lifebridge.
Anderson brings so much intensity to the floor with his game. Amare connected on a few short pull-up jumpers here today while getting the ball downhill and attacking the gaps. He shared the ball well today with his teammates and passed up on some looks to make his teammates happy.
Foster came over to Greer HS this off season from nearby Boiling Springs HS. Jyssiah will fit in nicely here as another option.
Henry has seemed to fill out a bit with his frame. Isaiah a football player in the fall really brings good on the ball pressure with his constant hustle. Isaiah really knows how to score the ball on short jumpers, getting into the gaps or just being in the right place at the right time.
Williams Jr. plays the game so aggressively with his ability to get the ball to the basket. Mikey constantly plays with a lot of energy and surely has no problems chatting it up on the floor. He really does a nice touch job of finishing at the basket especially with his left-hand. Mikey really likes to attack to the left-side of the rim despite being right-handed.
Ray Stays Hot – Francis Joins In:
Tyson Ray Tyson Ray 6'3" | PG Chapin | 2025 State SC continues his hot play over the past week for the Eagles. Tyson played well at the University of South Carolina Team Camp, Wofford Camp and now here today. Tyson really changed directions well going to the bucket and finding the open teammate on the back end. He surveyed the defense very well and really created separation at times to make plays. Tyson connected on short range jumpers here today when he wasn’t attacking the cup on the left-side of the floor.
Braydyn Francis Braydyn Francis 5'10" | PG Chapin | 2026 State SC sporting two different colored shoes here today for the Eagles came to play. The feisty and gritty Francis jumped on the deck a few times to gain possession of some 50/50 balls. Braydyn made a few short mid-range jumpers and brought plenty of energy to the lineup for the Eagles.
Stallions Played Well:
The South Pointe HS Stallions have plenty of talent when they can figure things out at times. Tre Raymon Tre Raymon 6'8" | SF South Pointe | 2026 State SC came out playing today. Tre the #1 player in the 2026 Palmetto State Class was dropping three pointers at ease. Tre handled the rock up the floor and made some heady decision along the way. Raymon had been hurt and missed action during the spring, but it surely felt good to see him back at it again.
RJ Hill RJ Hill 6'5" | PF South Pointe | 2025 SC continues his solid play from the Grassroots season to now for the Stallions. RJ just works for everything he deserves down in the paint. He rebounds the ball so well outside of his area and chases down opportunities. Hill plays bigger than his size on the floor and constantly remains active on both ends of the floor. He really understands he will provide production for his team by playing around the bucket and inside the paint area.
RJ Pickering RJ Pickering 5'9" | PG South Pointe | 2025 SC runs the show for the Stallions from out top at the point guard position. RJ keeps the ball low to the deck and really uses ball screens well to get to his spots on the floor. Jaheim Hall Jaheim Hall 6'6" | SF South Pointe | 2025 State SC is another piece of the puzzle for this Stallions roster. Hall a long and rangy athletic wing brings more length to this roster for Head Coach Melvin Watson. Can the Stallions stay healthy and make some noise this coming season?
