Southern Jam Fest: SEPA Prospects to Watch

One of the marquee events on the East Coast's spring circuit, the Southern Jam Fest brings together a host of the top grassroots programs in the country for highly competitive runs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Below is a review of the SEPA prospects college coaches need to be watching this weekend at the Southern Jam Fest. &nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><u>17U</u></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1874234' first='Nasir' last='Williams'] </strong><strong>– 6'0” / 2025 / Sankofa Freedom Academy / [program_tooltip program_id='2078697' first='Philly' last='Pride'] Select / Combo Guard:</strong> After a fantastic junior season Williams has continued to play at an elevated level this spring. As a result, he was named an all-tournament selection at the Donofrio Classis and a standout performer at the HG Spring Jam Fest. College coaches will love Williams amazing versatility. He can score at all three levels, work as a primary ball handler, and play off the ball. On defense Williams provides tenacious on-ball pressure and is willing to guard for 94-feet.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><u>16U</u></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2400241' first='Jalyn' last='Hopkins'] </strong><strong>– 6'5″ / 2026 / West Philly / BW Elite / Small Forward:</strong> Hopkins first caught our eye back in early April at the Rome Runs Philly Preview event. His exceptional play then extended to the HGSL circuit during the remainder of April. Last weekend at the Rare Footage Spring Fling, Hopkins again turned heads with his athleticism, shot making and slashing skills. Hopkins is also an open court phenom who can finish with authority or with creative flair. Finally, Hopkins possesses the length and positioning skills to work the offensive glass for points. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><u>15U</u></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2500733' first='Deng' last='Mabior'] </strong><strong>– 6'7″ / 2027 / Church Farm School / [program_tooltip program_id='2423459' first='PA' last='Hoops Academy'] / Wing:</strong> Mabior's offensive skills are still developing, but his length and highly accurate 3-point shooting make him an intriguing prospect to track. His ability to move without the ball and find open space along the arc for clean looks is noteworthy. Mabior is athletic and runs the floor well, so he is effective in transition too.
