Ari Rosenfeld | Prep Hoops Scout
The top-ranked prospect on either team, Mabior was a bit limited by turnover issues that plagued his backcourt, but nonetheless managed to flash his long-term potential. His primary impact came on the defensive end, where he played both inside and out while manning the wing in Church Farm’s aggressive zone. He was a consistent presence as a shot blocker while contributing with his length on the boards. It would help to see him in an offensive context that could highlight his strengths as a dumpoff finisher, lob threat, and occasional floor-spacer, but Mabior’s ceiling remains intriguing given his raw tools and steady two-way engagement while being on the very young side of his class.

Flying a bit under the radar while playing off the beaten path at Church Farm, Mabior continues to stand out as one of the more intriguing long-term frontcourt prospects in the state. The emerging rim-runner is an athletic specimen with his length, ability to run the floor and pogo-stick leaping. He’s a talented shot-blocker with mobility to step away from the rim and keep opposing ballhandlers in front. Offensively, he shows solid timing as a lob or dumpoff threat while intriguing with flashes of shooting ability out to the perimeter. The age of most 2028 or even some 2029 prospects, Mabior still has work to do to fill out his frame and get accustomed to the speed of the game at higher levels. But for now he has Church Farm out to a 20-1 start, entering the 2A tournament as the clear favorites out of District 1.

Mabior is a developing wing player with intriguing upside. His athleticism, length and wingspan caught our attention right way. That trifecta made it possible for Mabior to gobble up rebounds at both ends of the court. Those assets combined with his rim running skills enabled Mabior to score a handful of fast break buckets. Mabior flashed as a legitimate 3-point threat too. He was especially skilled at knocking down corner threes. Mabior excelled at moving without the ball and found creases in the defense for open looks.
