One of the most unique prospects in his class, Bernard again showcased his offensive versatility on Saturday. The junior is a legitimate matchup problem, capable of knocking down shots from beyond the arc while using his mobility to score both on the perimeter and inside. He can even provide reliable production on the block when needed, underscoring his all-around skill set. Jamar is a long, lengthy wing who reminds me of Kevin Durant with his effortless midrange shot. As a junior who is now ranked, he’s expected to be a household name. The 6’8” forward is a complete problem for any defense.

Bernard is a steady prospect who doesn’t need the ball to be effective. He cuts well, plays with discipline, and takes high-percentage shots. With improved mechanics and a stronger frame, he’s becoming more of a threat off the catch — making him a clean fit for programs looking for efficient, low-maintenance wings.

Though Bernard did not stuff the stat sheet, you could see his impact on his team and the game. He was moving well without the ball and drawing defenders for his team to operate in more space. His feel for the game was on full display and in the coming seasons, he will certainly be a name to keep an eye on as his role will grow and his impact will become even greater if Villages hopes to return to the championship in the future.

I came away thoroughly impressed with the way Bernard played in the win and his upside as a prospect. It really felt like Bernard was critical to his team’s success on Saturday. Based off the game against OLSM, I don’t think there’s a next level program in the country that this young man can’t play at. Bernard is a long and athletic wing with next level size and ball skills. For a young 6-7 prospect, he saw the floor and passed incredibly well, almost looking like a point forward at the top. Bernard sliced through he defense with a bounce pass for an assist and connected on an over the top pass from the free throw line for another assist. Bernard even showed a pretty touch pass for an assist under the rim. He was tough on D as well, showing the use of angles on a trap and using his length to challenge shooters.

Bernard is most definitely in danger of erupting at the showcase. He’s a slippery scorer that can fill it up from beyond the arc. Bernard has the ability to disrupt the offense by creating turnovers. He had 27 total steals last high school.
