Prep Hoops Live took place over the weekend in Romeoville! PHI will now be diving into the prospects that caught our attention. Here is Prep Hoops Live: 2026 Illinois Wings!

[player_tooltip player_id='2334404' first='Tre' last='Watkins'] (Basketball Paradise 16U)

Watkins was a revelation at the event. Checked in just inside the top 100 before the event he was outstanding proving he needs a bump in his status. Scored 32 points in the victory against the [program_tooltip program_id='2075383' first='Chicago' last='Demons']. He made tough shots one after another. Multiple threes and tough mid-range jumpers with hands in his face. Slick ball handler that wins off the bounce for finishes in the lane. Effective soft touch finishing game around the hoop. The broad shouldered and wiry wing had a big tip dunk and flashed as a secondary playmaker. One of the biggest single stock risers at the event!

[player_tooltip player_id='2323275' first='Adam' last='Flowers'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2075524' first='IBA' last='Illinois Stars'] Black 16U)

Flowers was one of the more impressive two guards at the event. The Hinsdale South two guard is a fluid rising junior that can really score it! Smooth slasher that gets to the rim for scoop shots, acrobatic layups, and played well in transition. Solid getting to his spots in the mid-range where the rangy wing can elevate over the defenders for scores. Primed for a breakout junior season!

Ahmad [player_tooltip player_id='2403249' first='Lee' last=''] ([program_tooltip program_id='2075383' first='Chicago' last='Demons'] 16U)

[player_tooltip player_id='2403249' first='Lee' last=''] was outstanding throughout the event as one of the top performers regardless of class from Illinois pouring in 20+ points in both games we saw him play. His jumper was on point draining shots from both three and mid-range creating for himself setting up his shots well getting space from defenders. In his second game which he scored 26 points he was flowing in the mid-range hitting them with guys in his face consistently! Rangy two guard that can score from all three levels and is continuing to get better each time we see him!

[player_tooltip player_id='2400893' first='Larry' last='Harris'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2075383' first='Chicago' last='Demons'] 16U)

Harris is more of a wing as he is only about 6'3”, but for the Demons the Lincoln Park rising junior plays on the inside and was a force all weekend! He did it on both ends impacting in a major way! High level rebounder and defender that brings the non stop motor on both ends. So quick with his second jump on the glass for put backs. Scores inside on post ups, junk points, and spin moves. The athleticism really pops. Long term potential will be dependent on whether he grows to be a post or improves his wing skills.

Darron Greer ([program_tooltip program_id='2075383' first='Chicago' last='Demons'] 16U)

Greer was an eye popping new prospect that caught our attention. The 6'3” shooting guard from Argo is an explosive wing that brings major athletic pop. Burst to the rim and scores in transition on the regular. He is a sound three point shooter that gets on the offensive glass and finishes through defenders. Sound wing defender that could develop into a big time threat on that end!

[player_tooltip player_id='2437519' first='Braylon' last='Walker'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2076264' first='Illinois' last='Central Elite'] 17U)

Walker was a breakout player this weekend as the 6'2” shooting guard from Warren had a pair of really nice games! Two guard that is at his best when pouring in mid-range jumpers over and over again! Does it with consistency knocking in feathery shots over and over again! Mixes in a soft touch finishing game around the hoop and flashes as a passer. Another good weapon to play off Warren's star 2027 point guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='2217951' first='Cooper' last='Mellican'] (M14 National 1 16U)

Mellican is a 6'3” shooting guard that opened eyes on the first evening of the event. He had a nice post up game including right handed hook shots and finishing through defenders for and-1s. Shoots a pretty good ball from beyond the arc as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1552461' first='Ethan' last='Matz'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2078374' first='Full' last='Package'] Black 16U)

Matz went for 18 points in their win against the [program_tooltip program_id='2075383' first='Chicago' last='Demons'] on Saturday. Plus three point shooter that can really let it fly from beyond the line. He made four of them in the victory. This is what the two guard is best at!

Charlie Pomis ([program_tooltip program_id='2078374' first='Full' last='Package'] Black 16U)

Pomis has been on our radar all spring. He continued that momentum with an excellent performance at Prep Hoops Live when we saw him notching 24 points. Another plus three point marksmen that made four of them in the win. Also does a nice job of mixing in reverse and acrobatic layups for conversions at the rim. Good transition player.

[player_tooltip player_id='1874752' first='Kenaz' last='Jackson'] (1 Dream 17U)

Jackson broke out the weekend before in St. Louis and continued to flash the skills that we liked. The long and lanky wing has a feathery jumper that he can knock in at a good rate from beyond the arc. Lot of projectability here!

[player_tooltip player_id='2323307' first='Lucas' last='Johnson'] (AR Elite 16U)

Johnson is a long and lanky 6'3” wing from De La Salle that presents projectability long term. Definitely looks the part. Floater game, mid-range shot, plus passer, and finishes with athleticism at the cup. Silky smooth wing to continue to track!

[player_tooltip player_id='2399236' first='Xavier' last='Porter'] (AR Elite 16U)

Porter put his name on our radar with all the things he did on the floor. High-level defender that plays with an all-out motor. He excels in the open floor and using a burst with the ball in his hands. Nose for the basketball and always seemed to be making key winning plays for his team.
