Midwest Warmups: 2029 Impactful Playmakers

The UW Sports Factory hosted two days worth of competitive action on Saturday and Sunday. AAU teams from across the Midwest showed up to see what their teams were made of as we are at the very beginning of Spring season. In this article we will breakdown the most impactful playmakers from the class of 2029 who were in attendance.    Caught Macdonald during team's last game of weekend on Sunday. A true 2 man at the wing spot with size for next level at this stage of career. A certified sniper. I tallied him for 5 total 3's in an up tempo style game. Can knock it down in transition off the catch and in stride with hands and feet ready. A few of these were from NBA range while his jumper still looked pure form this distance. Overall a valued producing perimeter threat that shoots it at a high clip.     One of the more explosive high-level athletes on Mac Irvin's 2029 team this spring. Runs the floor hard both ways looking to apply pressure defensively and then be in attack mode in transition phase. Has the speed and motor to really turn things up a notch quickly. Shows a natural feel within flow. Uses strength to draw fouls to get to the stripe on drives or off the dunker area. Dynamic positionless player that adds a punch to multiple facets of game.     Another physical post presence for Fire's 15U squad this spring that has power to make big plays and produce high level activity. Finishes through contact off the bounce and runs the floor well beating defense for transition scores. Impacts the glass offensively because of length and anticipation. Has matured hands and instincts for his position. A willing passer that adds value beyond scoring and brings another level of toughness to a talented squad.     Zahari has matured size and length for age. He runs the floor extremely well for his position and class. Scores on the block utilizing spin move or drop steps and can play above the rim. Had multiple breakaway dunks in open floor. Active defensively generating steals which turns into immediate offense. Boards consistently and then looks ahead for pitch ahead passes. Impacts the game as a playmaker.     You can't teach size and Anyijong already has it as a true freshman in high school at 6'9. His coordination and feel will only continue to get better but he already shows positive activity and effort for team. He may not fill up a stat sheet yet but his upside is certainly there. He gains positioning on the low block at times for catches with poised hands and feet. Made a nice spin move off weakside shoulder to finish. Gains advantage on both ends with plus wingspan. Runs the floor at a solid rate for size. Made a great cut off the ball to retrieve and score at the rim. Future productive big man.     An athletic wing with matured size and height for age. Jeremie already projects as a true next level player post high school with his two-way impact. He rebounds it well on both ends and then pushes pace in transition with or w/o the ball. Shows ability to gain second chance finishes. Defensively disrupts with steals and deflections to turn into offense. His slashing and playmaking ability is impactful. Moves the ball well with strength in ½ court setting. A 3 and D wing that will make tough plays and put team in position to win.
