Continue ReadingWith the spring portion of the AAU season about to wrap up, we now turn our focus to the summer which is the time we see the high school action get back underway. Multiple high school events will be taking place in the summer months including the IBCA Top 100 workout, the Charlie Hughes Showcase, plus multiple summer leagues. Prep Hoops Indiana will be out in full force all month watching multiple high schools prospects across the board. Let’s go ahead and take a look at three 2026 Cs that are on my watch list for the summer.
There may not be a more impressive center in the in-state 2026 class when it comes to pure, raw skill than Southport big man James Kalala James Kalala 6’7″ | C Southport | 2026 State IN . He is an elite rebounder and plays excellent post defense. He was one of the top impact transfers we saw last high school season and has been a true force when it comes to the post for the very talented EG10 2025 squad. Just on size, potential, and raw skill….I think he is a D1 prospect.
Highlights
The 6’7 center out of Indianapolis Roncalli was one of the bigger stock risers we saw in the Indiana high school class of 2026 this past season. Per MaxPreps, he averaged 10.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in his sophomore season for the Royals. He has played really well for Indiana elite Team Indiana with his good hands, footwork, and the ability to finish with both hands at the rim. He is a high-upside prospect that is just really consistent.

The 6’5 prospect out of Northridge has been one of the standout bigs we at Prep Hoops Indiana have seen thus far this AAU season. Playing for a talented 5Star Basketball squad, Scholl has been really nice around basketball when it comes to both scoring and rebounding. He averaged 15.2 points and 8.0 rebounds per game for a Northridge team that won 18 games this past season and if that was not impressive, I expect to average ever more next season. A under-the-radar big to watch this summer.
