Continue ReadingPlayed with great pace in a win over Team Melo that didn’t dip below double digits in the 2H. Sets up the defense well with a slow high dribble before attacking and getting to his spot, shifting tempo and showing a good burst on several extension lays past the defender. Adams hit shots from the perimeter but still made the extra pass several time, showing a good feel for what his team needs on each possession.
Green can really boogie with the ball in his hands and enough space to operate. He got into his pull-up quickly and smoothly coming off of ball screens or with his defender on an island. Showed good touch in the paint, used his pivot well to enhance his passing angles, and manipulated the defense with his eyes to create easy looks for his teammates.

Simmons did a little bit of everything in a win for Iso Joe over USC Unleashed. He hit the glass hard on both ends of the floor, initiated the fast break and made the right read, defended multiple positions, knocked down C+S looks, and even hit several midrange shots off the bounce. The handle has improved and enables him to navigate at a higher level in tight spaces, taking advantage of his good vision and decision-making. With his size and frame, he has an enticing blend of skills that can turn him into a high-level prospect at the next level if he chooses the right developmental situation.
Anthony shone as a bright spot for Team Melo as a high-level shot-maker that is beginning to knock down more self-created looks and in-rhythm C+S opportunities as he has matured to realize that the ball will find him if he gives it up and moves to space. The handle has improved and he’s able to get to pull-up midrange jumpers or floaters in the paint much more efficiently before the defense can react. He’s beginning to see opportunities to hit teammates with the pocket pass and passing up faders from the paint when he picks up his dribble in favor of finding an open teammate– leading to more efficient numbers and a better offensive flow. His long-term upside as a prospect continues to grow.
Dixon got going early from beyond the arc and settled into playmaker mode after TTO built up a double-digit lead early in the 1H behind some suffocating defense and a fastbreak ignited by 3s. He’s much more comfortable operating in side ball screens and is seeing the skip pass targets as well as the easy rolls in half court offense– showing the improved play-making chops that have led to an uptick in his recruitment. His perimeter shooting is vital to the undefeated run that his TTO 17u group is on so far this season, providing the spacing needed for the driving lanes of his teammates.
Highlights
Every time Team Herro seemed to mount a comeback, Lewis came through with a bucket off the bounce to build the lead back up. He’s done a great job of attacking hard closeouts to get into the paint and score over taller defenders. His physicality and assertive driving paths to the rim created easy looks for him to convert around the basket. Those drives set up easier pound dribble pull-ups off the bounce that he converted well in transition and in the halfcourt.
Henderson was the most impressive athlete that I saw at EYBL, with his assertive style of play accentuating a burst that really impacted the game vs Boo Williams. His defenders continuously thought they could beat him to a spot–especially in transition– and were instead met with a runaway freight train that detonated above the rim on several occasions. His timing on cuts to the rim and willingness to make the extra pass on lobs to his bigs created easy looks for JL3.
An undeniable athlete that played incredibly hard at both ends of the floor, Priester set out to make his presence felt on the offensive glass and my oh my was he successful. 2 putback dunks in the 1H against Iso Joe led to more assertive drives to the rim for the remainder of the game. An athletic W/F tweener that guards well on or off the ball, Priester collected 4 blocks in the 1H alone off of sheer effort and raw athletic gifts. The handle is good enough to create better driving angles to the lane and his midrange shooting ability shone through on several long rebounds– interesting prospect to track in 2025.
Highlights
Shot the cover off the ball but what stood out was the footwork and IQ to find gaps in the defense off the ball, the timing of his cuts, the precise angles he took to get open– the patience and attention to detail were impressive. Kinziger shoots the same shot every time with good form, gets it off in a hurry, and hit some quick C+S opportunities coming off screens that were well-contested. Competed defensively, was in gaps, communicated, navigated screens well– definitely a prospect to track in the 25 class
Highlights
Dean-Vines’ athleticism really stood out in a game against Pro Skills, throwing down 4 tomahawk dunks off vert or off the 1-2 step–which at his height was very impressive. Long arms, aggressive, athletic– he impacted the game at both ends with his energy and IQ– always in the right position. Can hit C+S perimeter jumpers but thrived as a driver that hit the glass well at either end of the floor.
Furnish gives his team the steady play-making that you want from your PG but with some shooting and self-creation shots. A pure PG first, he got past his matchup and kept him on his hip while drawing the help to create an open look for his teammates. He comes off ball screens tight and makes quick, decisive reads while he has the airspace to do so. Very active and pesky defensively, drew a charge in transition and was effective in his digs down to the block–forcing several tie-ups.
Franklin is a 2-sport athlete (football) and that was easy to tell, the aggressive style of play shown through on both ends while the speed and strength at his size made him an effective driver to the rim. Very explosive with a quick change of direction– it’s rare to see your PG on the receiving end of lobs but he flushed two 1-handed alley oops in transition in one quarter. Midrange pull-up was smooth, created a nice change of pace to catch the defense lacking after scoring on drives to the rim. 2-man game with his bigs was effective on the second side PnR.

Haltiwanger did a great job of creating his own shot off the bounce and that perimeter scoring helped his team come back in the 2H to make it a close game. Effective on or off the ball in USC Unleashed’s fullcourt press, his close-out angles and poke-outs helped his team force turnovers before scoring or getting to the line to cut into the lead.
