With grassroots season tipping off players from different towns and schools are teaming up. There are some combinations of players that will look like they fit together like peanut butter and jelly. Let’s take a look at a few of those player combos.
Alex Jamison Alex Jamison 6'1" | SG Port Huron Northern | 2026 State MI and Cole Charter Cole Charter 6'4" | CG Clarkston | 2026 State MI (REACH 2026)
This should be a great backcourt combination to watch this grassroots season. First of all, both are elite prospects in the class of 2026. If you watched Charter play this high school season, you’ll probably agree that he has the ability to be one of the best passers in the state. He can deliver a feed over the top of the defense as well as hit teammates in stride. That’s a great compliment to a player like Jamison that moves so well off the ball. He finds open spaces and lanes and works himself open. Jamison can score at all levels and has a guard that will get him the ball.
Jake Nellett Jake Nellett 6'5" | SF Walled Lake Central | 2025 State MI and Carson Lutz Carson Lutz 6'0" | CG Milford | 2025 State MI (InspireU 2025)
These 2 will compliment each other greatly. They have the ability to really spread the floor for each other and create opportunities for the other. Lutz is a top shooter in the class of 2025, helping him to a scoring average of almost 17 points per game during high school season. Opposing defenses will have to step out on him. When they do, enter Nellett. Nellett can shoot from beyond the arc as well. How many shooters can the D slow down? Well, a spread floor give Nellett a chance to attack off the wing and baseline and finish with 2 hands.
Dominic Goines Dominic Goines 6'3" | PF Livonia Franklin | 2026 State MI and James O’Connor III James O’Connor III 5'11" | CG Eaton Rapids | 2026 State MI (Midwest Stampede 2026)
The 2 players could certainly fit together well. O’Connor has next level speed with the ball in his hands. He can beat the defense down the floor and create for himself and his teammates. O’Connor will have the chance to make some excellent decisions with the ball this summer. A big reason why is having Goines on the floor with him. Goines is a versatile forward that can get up and down the floor. This will give O’Connor a chance to kick or feed the ball on the break. Goines can score at multiple levels and will be a dangerous teammate in the open floor.
