Alderink could be one of the best defenders in the state this season. He has good defensive footwork, especially for his size. Alderink is what I’d call an ideal rim protector. He can protect the rim by challenging shots and blocking them as well. He moves laterally in the lane very well when on D.

Alderink turned a ton of heads at the Top 250 last year and used it as a springboard into a great high school season. That great season plus an outstanding grassroots season has turned into big offers and interest. It’d be great to see Alderink back at the Top 250 and once again take off into high school season.

Alderink really put his game together in 2022. He put together his strength, power and athleticism into one nasty package. Alderink has secured himself as one of the most talented post players in the state regardless of class. He expanded his scoring options which really helped his game take off.

Alderink flat out has a superstar type game to him. He’s not just a powerhouse big. I really liked his movement and the fact that he can run the floor with ease and can finish it with 1 or 2 hands. Alderink defended the rim, picking up at least 1 block and altering shots throughout. He even stepped out and buried a 3 pointer off a pretty pass from his teammate. Alderink is going to make a lot of noise in this state, this season and beyond that.

The lefty big fella has come so far in the development of his game. He’s always been a special kind of athlete, but he’s really put his game together. Alderink has obviously worked hard to, and improved, the range on his jumper as well as his perimeter game as a whole. He looks like a big time power forward at the next level that will be able to pull his man away from the rim as well as dominate inside with his vertical and athleticism.

Alderink has absolute elite talent and upside. His length and athleticism are top notch and he can extend the floor as well as finish with power. Alderink has tremendous control when the ball is in his hands and his shot is starting to take that stereotypical pretty lefty form.
