All Wisconsin got off to a slow start last night, and at one point were down by 14 points. Ethan Joling Ethan Joling 6’6″ | PG Hortonville | 2026 State WI was part of the change in the second half that saw them comeback to defeat Manitowoc United in the opening game of the night. Just took over in the last few minutes of the game, getting to the rim off the drive, from backdoor cuts, and in transition. With his combination of length and finishing ability, there wasn’t much defenders could do to stop him in the paint. Showed good body control to finish off floaters while on the move, and could also go straight to the rim and touch it in off the glass. Intriguing prospect because of his size at 6’6 and positional versatility.
Highlights
Ryan brought some much needed energy off the bench for All Wisconsin on Friday night. His production was the main reason why they were able to remain within striking distance and eventually comeback to win against Manitowoc United. At 6’3 he has a strong frame which makes him a difficult matchup on the wing. He knocked down a few shots from beyond the arc, but also utilized his size to clean up the glass inside. Liked the leadership he showed to try to fire up his team after they came out slow early in the game.
Donovan came out firing on Friday night. All Wisconsin just didn’t have an answer for him as he slashed his way to the basket for finish after finish. Donovan was coming off screens tight before getting downhill with his man on his shoulder, and was also capable of beating his defender off the dribble with good change of speed. Had no fear going right into the heart of an All Wisconsin defense loaded with length and size. At 6’2 Donovan also flashed his outside shot with a handful of pull-up jumpers. Manitowoc United ended up coming up short in the end, but it was an impressive showing from the Roncalli sophomore.

J’cobi Mathis
J’cobi Mathis
Coming off of an impressive freshman season that saw him average 22.6 ppg at St. Augustine, Mathis is running with Milwaukee based Bradley Elite this weekend. He has such a quick first step, and did a great job of utilizing a jab-step to get his defender leaning before attacking the opposite direction. In the game I watched he excelled at creating separation with limited dribbles, and is a confident scorer from both three and at the rim. Isn’t going to rise up and dunk on anyone, but Mathis has the type of athleticism that allows him to just glide to the basket and finish. Liked how he utilized his quickness to pressure the ball and force mistakes from opposing ball handlers as well.
Jackson had a moment in the first half where he caught fire from three, coming down and draining three straight shots from beyond the arc to give his team an offensive spark. Quick release on his shot with range extending a few feet out beyond the high school line. Thought he did a nice job of utilizing a shot fake to get defenders in the air, and get into the paint to look to create for his teammates. Defensively he was putting himself in the right spots off the ball, and although the calls didn’t go his way this game, there were a couple plays where he drew contact that would likely be called a charge in most games.

Jayden Jayden WI had some of the best passes I saw all night, and he was constantly looking to create for his teammates off the dribble. Lightning quick crossover allowed him to beat his man off the dribble, get into the paint, and force a helpside defender to step up on him. From there he could locate the open teammate with an accurate pass. Had some needle threading passes through tight gaps showing some impressive accuracy with one or two hands. Missed a few lay-ups that I’m sure he’d like to get back, but his passing and handle get him on tonight’s standout list.

Jaydan plays with great pace on the ball, never looking sped up by pressure, and able to accelerate in the blink of an eye to get into the paint. He would just lull his defender to sleep and then explode coming off a screen to attack the basket. Showed he can finish over size with a soft floater. Garrett was in attack mode constantly looking to get into the paint and either finish or draw a foul, rather than just settling for outside jumpers. Helped lead his G-Elite team to a big win on opening night.
