Here at PH NorCal our number one focus is to shine the light on standouts from NorCal. Here’s some of Friday’s Standout at The Map.
Our first game on Friday at The Map was the Oakland Soldiers 16 EYBL Team. They’ll be on the circuit so we probably won’t see them again for a while.

6’4 Guard, Archbishop Riordan
Hilman the #2 NorCal Prospect in the 2026 Class. He’s a well rounded guard that gets work done from both guard positions. At 6’4 and bulking he may become more of a scorer working off ball with his ability to put points on the board. A 3 level scorer, a top notch defender, he’ll rebound.

He’s got the body, square shoulders, and plenty hops to effectively take care of business in the paint. He’s aggressively attacking the rim from different angles. My guess is he’s been told to dunk everything. He has the body to play through contact at this level. He has some touch, he’ll hit paint jumpers, an improving 3pt shot. He can control the boards.

Jones looks like a good fit for the point guard position, good ball protection, a willing distributor with vision. On the other hand, he can become aggressive looking to get to his spots for mid-range, and 3ptrs. He’s long with improving foot speed on defense.

Whitney is adjusting to the speed of the game, and size of defenders at this level. when he figures that out he’s going to create his fare share of buckets. He’s a prospect who can create his own shot opportunities using his dribble and body, he has a scorers mentality, but has made good progress knowing when to pass.

6’9 Center, Portola
He’s one we don’t see much of living in the Valley of Portola. He’s long wiry and active in the post area, he can be a disruptor on the defensive side, going after blocks, and giving good minutes defending in the post. At 6’9 he gets up and down the court okay. He’s on the thin side, but has ways of using his length to get a bucket around the rim; It’ll be a bit more challenging at this level. He averaged 23pts, 15rebs with his high school team.

Most circuit teams have an under 6’0 point guard that can defend and stay on other smaller point guards when needed. Davis fits the bill he’s a quick hand on ball defender who can disrupt a bit. He has the tools to run the offense up top. We’ve seen him knock down 3’s at key moments, he can penetrate and pass or hit the paint jumper.
