About Myles
Expert Analysis
Paul Hernandez | Prep Hoops Scout
Jones was thrust into the lead guard spot for the 3SSB Invitational, as Compton Magic was without its premier point guard Mason Magee, and he displayed quality decision making with the ball in his hands, as well as his usual sharp shooting from the perimeter. The 6-foot-3 guard, and Stanford commit, has the handles and court vision to survey the floor, makes the right reads in the half-court setting, and makes solid decisions in the pick and roll/pop action either finding the screener or creating his own shots. Jones plays with good pace and feel for the game, makes nice use of the hesitation and the crossover to generate space from his defender, gets good lift and can stop on a dime for the mid-range jumper, is efficient with the 3-ball off the dribble or the catch, and has nice form on his shot with range on the 3-ball. Jones is a solid defender and has active hands to create turnovers on the perimeter that lead to transition buckets. Jones has a silky smooth flow to his game and can score the ball in volume.

of Modesto Christian plays with a calm, steady pace that sets him apart. He never rushes—always under control—and he knows exactly when to pick his spots. Whether it was scoring or making the right pass, Jones came through whenever his team needed a play.
He’s a true playmaker who can also shoot it. When he gets inside the arc, he draws a ton of attention—forcing defenses to collapse and opening up easy reads. His vision and feel for the game allow him to take full advantage of those moments, making the right decision more often than not.
What stood out most was his ability to share the floor with another ball-dominant guard. Jones didn’t force anything; he just played his role, elevated his teammates, and still made a major impact.

It was our first look at Jones running with Compton Magic. He seems to be in combo mode for now. Good ball handling skills, dealing with ball pressure bring it up court, getting the offense going in half-court set, with good passing around the perimeter, feeding the post, and finding cutters. He dropped a couple key 3’s when needed.

He’s starting to unleash his all around scoring prowess with this group. He’ll use a series of moves finishing around the rim, scoops, one handed controlled layups avoiding hard hits. He’s getting into the paint, spinning, using balance, and fade aways to complete the paint jumper. He’ll drop a 3ptr at anytime. He’s long and moving well on defense.

Jones is a rising prospect in the 2026 class already with DI offers under his belt. He continues to bring consistent play from the guard positions. He transitions well from running the point to playing off ball. He spots up, and can use his dribble looking to knock down 3’s in different areas. He’s been productive playing both. We saw more of his shot making off ball.
