The PrepHoops Circuit kicked off this weekend at sites around the country and the Hustle Region Classic at the Beaverton Hoop YMCA had plenty of competitive action. There were a handful of guys that we weren't too familiar going into the tournament that we came out of putting on our list to watch more closely this spring, summer, and into next season. Here's a look at some of them.

[player_tooltip player_id='2410265' first='Harold' last='Turner'] (2026 Benson/Pro Tech 16U) - In the game we saw Turner, he was able to accomplish all these things - block at least four shots, hit a three, and score in transition with a pretty finger roll. The 6-foot-4 forward has great length and athleticism and his best basketball is clearly ahead of him.

[player_tooltip player_id='2394758' first='Elijah' last='Malloy'] (2025 Central Catholic/Team P.A.C.E. Red) - Malloy showed a good knack for scoring in various ways, whether it was hitting open jumpers or getting to the basket. Currently standing 6-foot-3, his father Shawn (who played at Lamar and professionally) stands 6-foot-10, so he may still be growing.

[player_tooltip player_id='2394565' first='Derek' last='Cohen'] (2026 Centennial/Team P.A.C.E. Red) - Cohen was super aggressive offensively, often looking to get to the hoop and wasn't afraid to draw contact in the process. The 6-foot-2 wing's jumpshot looked solid as well and overall he played with purpose.

[player_tooltip player_id='2390243' first='Samuel' last='Mahoney'] (2026 Wells/[program_tooltip program_id='2362747' first='Oregon' last='Premier'] 2026) - To be honest, Mahoney may not pass the look test at first but on the court, he clearly proved he's a contributor. The 5-foot-11 guard operated with a non-stop motor on both ends, hit open shots, and really looked to create for himself and others.

[player_tooltip player_id='2479597' first='Mychal' last='Boyd'] (2027 Jefferson/[program_tooltip program_id='2242229' first='Portland' last='Reign'] 2027) - Boyd arguably was one of the most competitive players in the entire event. The 5-foot-9 guard was all over the place on both ends of the floor, whether it was creating off the dribble or in his assignment's face on D. He showed a knack for making big plays as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2132801' first='Pelumi' last='Ajayi'] (2027 Glencoe/Fly Academy 2027) - Ajayi was one of the quicker players we saw in the 15U division. The 5-foot-11 guard was super fast getting into the lane and when he wasn't finishing around the hoop, he was getting it to teammates for open shots.

Isaiah Docken (2026 Gonzaga Prep-WA/Team Together) - Docken used his strong 6-foot-3 frame inside, getting tough buckets on the offensive end while also providing plenty of presence on the defensive end. In the one game we watched closely, the forward was a shot-blocking threat.

Lionel Primus Jr (2027 James Logan-CA/Off the Dribble 2027) - Standing only 5-foot-11, Primus showed some tremendous versatility by battling bigger players in the paint both on the boards and defensively. A good athlete, he was dangerous in the open floor with his ability to finish in transition.
