Slay is a name for DI programs in the region to get on their radar early in the grassroots season. He had himself a productive season in the Carmel Christian rotation in 2023-24, posting 17.6 PPG, 4.6 RPG, 3.9 APG and 1.2 SPG on 36 percent shooting from deep as a junior. He knocked down 70 3-pointers, which ranked first in the NCISAA 4A, according to MaxPreps. He’s a prospect to keep eyes on with on the UA stage with Team Curry this spring/fall.
Younger has already made noise on the grassroots scene with 1 of 1 Elite . He’s a strong-framed prospect at 6-foot-5 who’s shown he can attack the paint with reckless abandon and finish with authority. He’s also capable of spacing the floor with his shooting stroke on the perimeter. He shot 37 percent from behind the arc at Weddington this past season. Given his versatility on the floor, he’s another prospect for DI and DII programs in the region to get eyes on.
Highlights
Lowery is a name to keep eyes on on the EYBL stage as he joins the Team Thad rotation heading into the spring/summer. He’s quite the floor-setter already with Winston-Salem Christian School National as they concluded their season by winning the HoopState Championship. He averaged 14.0 PPG, 6.0 APG and 2.5 APG as he emerges as one of the top available point guards in the 2025 class.
Highlights
Karr is an emerging name to know on the independent grassroots scene with Carolina Riptide . He’s another sizeable prospect at 6-foot-6 who’s shown he can operate in a variety of ways with his length, athleticism and shot-making ability. He’s climbed up the PH radar as he continues to turn heads out of North Lincoln High, where he produced 17.3 PPG, 9.4 RPG, 5.9 APG and 2.7 SPG on 55 percent shooting from the field and 41 percent shooting from deep. He’s a prospect for DI and DII programs to get on their radar given his ability to fill up the stat sheet.
Little recently made his debut in the PH 2025 rankings out of Anson High following an impressive scoring display for their varsity squad. He racked up 794 points while shooting 42 percent behind the arc and 63 percent shooting from the floor. He’s a volume-scoring guard who’s shown he can also keep others involved and defend at a high level. He’s another prospect to catch on the independent grassroots scene this spring/summer as he suits up with the NC Jayhawks .
Mwanda is an underrated floor general for college programs in the region to get eyes on in the 2025 class. He’s a sizeable prospect at the point guard spot at 6-foot-3 with nice range to go along with his playmaking ability out of Heritage High. He averaged 12.0 PPG, 4.2 RPG and 3.4 APG as a junior. He’s a name to keep eyes on with Team All Carolina on the independent grassroots scene.
