rn-Traore showed his worth as a rebounder and dynamic finisher around the rim that almost catapulted his Clinton Grace team to a win over DeMatha. Defensively, Traore creates havoc on or off the ball with his ability to defend the rim and jump passing lanes for steals. The available wing prospect can help teams win at the next level, hoping that college coaches have been paying attention to their run this season to the MPSC title game.
16p 9a 7r 2s vs Mt. Zion
-Lonergan stepped up on short-handed day for the Cavaliers to impact the game as a scorer, rebounder, and play-maker– doing a great job of utilizing his pivot in the paint to draw a foul or find a perimeter teammate for an assist. Lonergan gets to a ton of rebounds despite a relatively small frame because of his positioning and aggressiveness on the glass. His perimeter shooting almost brought Spalding back in this one.
Highlights
13p 3r 3a vs DeMatha
-One of the most entertaining, shifty point guards in the DMV– Panda-Massey went down swinging in a game that got as close as 3 points late in the 4Q. He got to the paint whenever he wanted, hits shots off the dribble, and got Clinton Grace in transition with regularity throughout the game.
L. King III 13p 6r 3s 1b vs Bullis
-King was a bit more active on the glass in this one, one of the bright spots for RCCA on an off shooting night from the floor as a team– shooting 6/7 from the floor in this one. His ability to stretch the floor while providing defensive versatility with some rebounding, he’s an intriguing available ’24 prospect.
24p 5r 2a
-Waheed got it going in the 2H, scoring 22 of his 24 in the final two frames while showing his inside-out scoring ability. His offensive rebounding and perimeter shooting led his team back in the game, cutting a 12-point deficit at the end of the 3Q down to as low as 5 points. His ability to serve as a play-making hub from the high post, rebounder, off-ball shooter, and solid defender were invaluable to the Hoyas this season.
Highlights
Charles Thomas 23p 3a 2r 1s vs Clinton Grace
-Thomas had a breakout performance, scoring 23 despite fouling out with 6 minutes left in the game. His ability to stretch the floor and hit perimeter shots for DeMatha while also providing rebounding and shot-blocking for the Stags was key in building up a good margin in the 1H. If the perimeter shooting is consistently above 35%, expect his recruitment to pick up as a 2-way stretch forward.
16p 8r 2a 1b
-Reibe is so patient offensively for the Bulldogs, reading the defense and finding a teammate or creating his own offense from the high post or the low block. The sturdy forward shot 8/12 from the floor, utilizing a flurry of low post moves and finishes around the rim. The highly-coveted 6’11 forward moving much better at both ends, hip mobility and conditioning at a much better level down the stretch of the regular season.
Highlights
M. Franklin 16p 11r 1a 1s
-One of my favorite utility players in the area, Franklin turned in an efficient double-double performance to advance St. Andrew’s to the next round. His ability to switch defensively and mark guards has been extremely valuable in ball screen coverage for the Lions.
Kade Sebastian Kade Sebastian 6’4″ | SG DeMatha | 2025 State MD 11p 3r 2a 2s 3b
-Sebastian turned in another well-rounded performance, leaving a broad impact on the game despite not shooting well from the floor. He jumps passing lanes and gets to a ton of deflections for a DeMatha defense that needs him to perform well at that end as a POA and help defender. His willingness to do the dirty work and guard a variety of different offensive players has been immensely valuable to the Stags this season.
