Michael was another player who began to take control of the game in the second half. His pace and composure on the ball makes him so reliable both as a scorer and game manager. Grafton could trust him to not make any bad decisions with the ball, and find ways to get high percentage looks in a tight game. McNabb makes it look effortless as he glides to the rim, and since he’s always in control he can euro-step to avoid defenders or absorb contact on his shoulder and finish off the glass with ease. Found ways to get to the rim or earn trips to the FT line to help Grafton take down Slinger.
Highlights
In a regional finals win over Burlington, Jaquan put up 27 of Pius XI’s 54 points, while assisting on a handful of buckets as well. He just has a different level of strength for a high school guard, and with that defenders have such a hard time of keeping him away from the rim. Even if he isn’t able to get by his man initially with his quickness and handle, he’ll just power right through them around the rim. He’s so good at hanging in the air and keeping his chin at the rim through contact to finish even when fouled. I really like how he looks to push the ball off a defensive rebound, and always keeps his eyes scanning the floor. This allows him to launch deep outlet passes or handle it up the floor and deliver a pocket pass to a slashing teammate.
Highlights
Jack stepped into the Slinger varsity team and was an instant impact player as a freshman. He was not only a consistent scorer all season long, but also a major presence on the glass and defensive end. In a close loss to Grafton Jack was finishing at the rim, showcasing a smooth pull-up jumper, and also blocked a handful of shots throughout the game. At 6’5 he already has good positional size on the wing, is capable of getting to his spots off the dribble, and has already proven himself to be a three-level scoring threat. One to watch closely in the 2027 class.
Grant Sulik
Grant Sulik
Grant is a solid looking prospect in the 2026 class. In a tight loss to Pius XI he finished with 14 points, including a pair of 3 point shots. At 6’4 he has some size on the wing, and a strong frame that allows him to play with more physicality than you’d expect from a sophomore. As a quarterback on the football field, Grant translates that passing ability to the basketball court where he won’t make many mistakes with the ball in his hands. Burlington is one of those programs that consistently wins and has been pumping out college basketball prospects over the past few seasons, and Grant is developing into a strong player for them.
Elijah came alive in the second half and had Westosha Central in it until the very end with West Allis Central. Finishing with 27 points, Griffin showcased deep range from beyond the arc, and change of speed that makes him very unpredictable on the ball. He’s so dangerous as a pick & roll ball handler because he can hurt you in a variety of ways. Go under and he’ll just pull-up from three. Chase him over and he’ll pin you on his hip and go to work from there. Leave the smallest gap to find his big rolling to the hoop and Elijah has the pinpoint accuracy to deliver a pocket pass through that gap. He’s one of the state’s premier passers, but this season he showed he can take over a game with his scoring when needed as well.
Julian knocked down the go-ahead three with under a minute to play to help push Pius XI to a regional finals win over Burlington. He finished the game with 14 points including four makes from beyond the arc. Julian is a lights out shooter who is always looking for pockets of space on the perimeter and keeps his hands and feet ready to shoot when the ball comes his way. He compliments Jaquan Johnson Jaquan Johnson 5’10” | PG Pius XI | 2024 State WI so well because when Jaquan drives, Julian is always giving him an option to kick it out to.
