Julian knocked down the go-ahead three with under a minute to play to help push Pius XI to a regional finals win over Burlington. He finished the game with 14 points including four makes from beyond the arc. Julian is a lights out shooter who is always looking for pockets of space on the perimeter and keeps his hands and feet ready to shoot when the ball comes his way. He compliments

Julian is one of the better three point shooters in the Milwaukee area, and it showed this week as he knocked down shot after shot to keep things tight with Kenosha ITA. He puts himself in the right spots off the ball, and always has his hands and feet ready to quickly catch and shoot. Showed touch from both three and mid-range in the game I watched. Should be in for a strong senior year this winter.

I guess the Woodland is just full of knockdown shooters. In Thursday’s win over New Berlin Eisenhower, Julian connected on nine three-pointers. No, that’s not a typo. Julian scored all 27 of his points from the three-point line. His jumper is legit. His shooting mechanics are impressive; he squares himself, is ready to shoot, and has a nice, quick ball dip before letting his beautiful shot fly. The nice thing is that Julian can spot up from anywhere. He seems to find a lot of success on catch-and-shoot opportunities from the corner. The junior is averaging 13.2 points per game and I’d expect Pius to lean on his abilities a lot next year.

With Maurice Gibbs facilitating, Julian was the one finding the most success scoring for Pius XI. He’s a big time shooter who doesn’t let the ball stick in his hands for very long. Julian works hard off the ball to get into space, and is great at getting his feet set and body squared coming off a full sprint before elevating to get a shot off. Also showed he’s not afraid to create his own shot, but would only need one or two dribbles to do so. Was excellent cutting to the rim on BLOB plays to pick up some easy buckets. Defensively he’s a scrappy player who drew a charge and also tied up his man to force a jump ball.
