Devin Brown Devin Brown 6'7" | PF Milwaukee Academy Of Science | 2025 State #196 Nation WI – PF – Milwaukee Academy of Science
I always struggle with Brown’s ranking, because he has beaten the best two forwards in the state in head-to-head matchups — and his team has won both games. Now, Brown might be a little undersized for a power-five ‘4’, might be a little unconventional and a tweener, but the kid can play, he has heart, and there’s a ton of upside. At 6-6/6-7, Brown is very long and explosive. He has a budding perimeter game and is the type of forward who can get a rebound and go coast-to-coast. Brown’s floor is very high as well. Given how well he rebounds, protects the rim, and gets on the offensive glass, I don’t see him as a boom or bust guy. Mississippi State threw an early offer out there. I think Brown is worthy of more P5 offers this spring.
Myles Herro Myles Herro 6'2" | PG Whitnall | 2025 State #237 Nation WI – PG – Whitnall
Sounds like Herro is gaining traction with some high major programs. Think mid-majors should be all over the 6-foot-2 point guard out of Whitnall. Herro is the best pure point guard in the state. He makes great decisions with the basketball, can run the pick n’ roll to perfection, and get his own shot when needed. Herro drastically improved his outside and mid-range shooting this past season. He was a maestro in some high level games that I saw. Like his two older brothers, Herro also has the type of body and frame that will take off starting his senior year. Saw both Austin and Tyler make big jumps athletically later in their careers. Think Myles could be on that same trajectory.
Chris Davis Jr. Chris Davis Jr. 5'10" Madison East | 2025 State WI – SG – Sun Prairie West
We’ve said it for a year or so now, Davis just gets better and better. The Sun Prairie West star, who averaged 41 ppg as a junior, is going to take his talents to the Nike EYBL. I would expect that he holds up just fine and that his recruitment just takes off. Davis is an outstanding isolation scorer who’s incredibly efficient for the types of shots he’s willing to take and just the sheer volume as well. The 6-foot-2 junior has a deep bag of tools, able to score from all three levels and in a variety of ways. Type of kid that it doesn’t matter if he’s made five or missed five in a row — his confidence stays the same.
Gavin Gores Gavin Gores 6'10" | PF Cumberland | 2025 State WI – PF – Cumberland
Gores has all the tools. Is this the spring where he puts it together? The 6-foot-8 forward looks the part of a high major prospect. He’s big, strong, has wide shoulders, athletic, bouncy, and versatile. He checks a lot, if not, all of the boxes, but maybe doesn’t do any of those things quite at an elite level yet. Fortunately for Gores, it’s very hard to find a big man that’s coordinated with power-five athleticism. They don’t grow on trees, which is why I could see high majors rolling the dice on Gores over the next few months. Given his outside shooting ability, budding post game, and measurables, Gores, at the very least, should be one of the top mid-major post prospects in the Midwest.
Highlights
David Bolden David Bolden 6'0" | PG Nicolet | 2025 State WI – PG – Nicolet
I don’t think there’s a player in the state who flies as under the radar as much as Bolden. If I’m a Division 2 school, I am begging this kid to join my program. As far as leadership and playmaking skills, there’s one better point guard in this state in those two areas, in my opinion. Bolden just gets the point guard position. He knows how to run the show, has a great feel for his teammates, makes high-IQ plays, and when it’s winning time, wants the ball in his hands. Yeah, Bolden plays with some amazing talent in high school in AAU. Take Bolden off those teams, I’d be willing to bet their records drop big time.
