-A personal 12-0 run from Meeks midway through the 2Q swung a 5 point deficit to a 7-point halftime lead that DeMatha would continue to expand with Meeks’ perimeter shooting. Sophomore guard shot 9/16 from the floor (5/9 from 3) and used that scoring gravity to get to the paint to create for a teammate, hit a floater, or get to the line. Meeks’ ability to hit perimeter shots has provided more spacing and driving lanes for an offense that needs it this season.
17p 11r 2a vs RCCA
-Collingwood stepped up and delivered a double-double for a McNamara team down 3 rotation players. Despite struggling from the floor, Collingwood still managed to impact the game with 6 offensive rebounds- with 4 of them leading to baskets for his team as they worked to come back vs RCCA in the 2H. His blend of strength and speed make him a versatile defender that can guard 2-4 while also switching onto 1s and 5s and forcing up some tough shots. He can run the fastbreak as a ballhandler or wing capable of hitting shots or finishing his opportunities above the rim. One of the most versatile players in the area.
15p 12r 2s 1b vs Lanham Christian
-Pendergrass’ growth as a rebounder has been encouraging to see, going from a player that grabbed 3 or less boards a game to a player that consistently gets into double digit rebounds for the game. His ability to score off putbacks while facing the basket or with his back to the basket blend well with his ability to get hot behind the arc.

13p 7a 4r 1s vs Mt. Zion
-Joy absolutely lived in the paint in this matchup with MZ and did a great job of finishing past defenders while also creating for open shooters as well. The perimeter wiggle and shiftiness makes it really hard for defenders to anticipate his driving paths or where he’s going with the ball. I love seeing him in this setting as a point guard that has the freedom to be creative on the ball versus playing in a stringent system. His ability to create and knock down shots will make him a valuable piece for this Lanham Christian team moving forward.
14p 5r 1b vs Mt. Zion
-Woodard has grown at least 4 inches taller in the past year but his game has actually become more smooth as a finisher and ballhandler operating out of the short corner and high post. There isn’t much wasted movement with this prospect, he gets right into his move off the catch and is decisive with his looks around the rim. The athleticism has improved more than anything, with Woodard exploding to finish 3 lobs above the rim. He made the only shot he took outside of the paint (good C+S wing 3) and the form looked good on the free throw attempts. Expect to see a nice bump for him in the next iteration of our 2027 rankings to reflect his progression as a prospect.
12p 8r 1s vs RCCA
-Taylor showed his value as a young prospect to the Mustangs by thriving as a guy that does all of the little things that lead to winning- boxing out hard, setting solid screens, communicating defensively, providing great help defense, running the fastbreak. I always come away impressed with his ability to impact the game in limited minutes off the bench as a rebounder, play finisher, and hard-nosed defender.
Highlights
11p 5r 1a
-The sweet-shooting wing took a minute to get going, only getting off 2 shots in the first half because he wasn’t working hard off the ball to get open. Harvey ran off 8 straight points to bring Severn back to within striking distance before St. Andrew’s started getting to the line to put the ball game away. Harvey’s ability to hit perimeter shots (3/5 from 3) while mixing in drives to the basket to take advantage of the shooting gravity make him a name to track this summer as I expect more buzz to build around his ability to put the ball in the basket.
