Let's revisit some of the standout forwards from the first day at the Dome. These 3A players stood out above the rest to impact games in various ways.

[player_tooltip player_id='1821289' first='Omarion' last='Boston'] | Lincoln (Tacoma)

Just a super technically sound forward who's got the shooting touch, crafty moves and footwork, and burly strength to beat defenders in numerous ways. Caught fire in the final quarter against Auburn before fouling out with 1:43 to go. He's a critical player to a team that has played some top competition tough all season and has another challenge today against Eastside Catholic.

[player_tooltip player_id='2295413' first='Darius' last='Dillard'] | Lincoln (Tacoma)

Showed a lot of patience finishing inside through bodies. Used good footwork, threw in some pump fakes under the rim, and had the determination to follow a lot of his own misses inside and finish the play. He hit a near half-court shot just before halftime that turned out to be bigger than initially thought, as Lincoln would win by four.

[player_tooltip player_id='1450496' first='Luvens' last='Valcin'] | Auburn

Huge athlete, huge competitor - Valcin was all over the game early on with rebounds, dunks, and finishes inside. Looked like he could be the guy to take over and propel Auburn to the next round with his early impact. Just was a workhorse for them in the interior and made several nice passes including a near full-court pass to [player_tooltip player_id='1451033' first='Jaylen' last='Petty'] for a big slam.

[player_tooltip player_id='1485655' first='Svayjeet' last='Singh'] | Mountlake Terrace

Pretty sure I've said this before, but Singh feels like one of the most underrated players in the state. He's a true team player who does the dirty work, hits his open shots, and plays tough on the glass as well as in whatever defensive matchup he takes on. A big kid who can move and play efficiently with his touches.

[player_tooltip player_id='1450489' first='Zaveon' last='Jones'] | Mountlake Terrace

Made a few really nice long outlets that led to buckets in the first quarter and then came back in the fourth to hit six free throws in the waning minutes that kept the Hawks on top.

[player_tooltip player_id='2158318' first='Gabriel' last='Towne'] | Mountlake Terrace

Another "under-the-radar" big-time performer from yesterday's action. Towne came out of the gates hot, sinking two opening quarter 3s and defending the rim at a high level. He came back to hit another shot from downtown to go up six with 2:02 remaining and then hit two free throws with about a minute and a half left that extended their lead to eight.

[player_tooltip player_id='1837760' first='Will' last='Tellis'] | Todd Beamer

Came alive in the second half with some outside shots, three-point plays at the rim, and even a block on a Terrace 3-point attempt. His shot-making was key to their massive run and looked like he would lead them to victory.

[player_tooltip player_id='2368914' first='Ahmed' last='Ismail'] | Todd Beamer

Solid rebounding inside and made several big defensive plays, tipping passes, stepping up for charges, and even made a couple of good passes to cutters from the high post. He was a big presence for them defensively throughout the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1450929' first='Dominic' last='Simpson'] | Todd Beamer

Pretty quiet until late in the game when he made a few plays on their big run that seemed to momentarily deflate Terrace. Had a big offensive board and put back off a missed free throw. Then made another tough bucket inside to take the lead in the fourth but soon after fouled out.

[player_tooltip player_id='1463068' first='Ray' last='Adams'] | North Thurston

Not his typical game on the offensive end and was mostly smothered inside but came alive with some defensive plays, blocking shots inside and tipping up passes for steals. That defensive focus seemed to help get him going offensively in the second half.

[player_tooltip player_id='1598394' first='Dominik' last='Robinson'] | Rainier Beach

This is a player who can control a game from inside and is a big reason why Beach is a threat to beat anyone on any night. He was scoring with feel on the blocks, rebounding at a high rate, making key passes out of the post, and was a monster defending the rim with six blocks by my count. Too strong, big, and poised for North Thurston and will be a load to stop going forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='1451032' first='Jeremiah' last='White'] | Rainier Beach

Not a ton of counting stats but White is an excellent perimeter defender who has the length to disrupt outside shots, plays a big role on the glass crashing in, and has the athleticism to hit paint and rim shots off of cuts or offensive boards. He's a guy who fills in a lot of gaps for this team and can guard multiple positions.

[player_tooltip player_id='1450492' first='Ajayi' last='Simmons'] | Garfield

Still doesn't look quite like himself offensively after spending a lot of the season sidelined but made a couple of nice offensive plays with a turnaround jumper and a couple of put-backs inside. His biggest impact came on the defensive end by blocking a few shots at the rim, and then hustling to save a rebound from going out of bounds with just over a minute to go.
