Ajayi is one of the top players within the entire state/class. He is strong on the court, using his frame and body to his advantage when going down-hill. His footwork down low is solid as he can use his post moves to get buckets with ease. He has been evolving his game, adding a deep shot. After his jumper is consistent, he will be a big time recruit who could go to a Division 1 school.

Prev Rank: 7 (+2)rnHe only rises two spots in this update but Simmons has been one of the most impressive players I have watched improve over the past year or so. He went from being primarily a paint player with some potential in the face-up mid-range shot, to a guy that is a threat to score with from any spot on the court. His progress with his 3-point shot is probably the most impressive add to his game, but he also seems to anticipate action better and plays with a ton of confidence. He is quickly putting himself into that next level of players and should be getting a ton of interest as the year goes on.

Previous Rank: 10rnSimmons looks to be getting more and more comfortable operating with his extreme length, leading his team to a 23-3 record this past season. Last summer, he was still mostly a threat around the paint and struggled sometimes finishing through contact. By the time the regular season ended, he was still that same paint threat but was more physical on both ends of the floor and had developed a nice shot from the outside. In fact, the last game of his I watched, he stroked four 3-pointers in a row in the opening quarter and looked like a much-improved shooter.

Simmons’ activity Saturday was second to none. His jumper looked smooth and confident, leading him to hit multiple threes and draw defenders out of the paint. He is the clear number one option for Renton on offense and played with that kind of confidence. Not only was he hitting shots, but he showed a good feel for finding teammates around the bucket when he felt that extra defender closing in on him. He was matched up with Jacob Cofie Jacob Cofie 6'10" | PF Eastside Catholic | 2024 State #97 Nation WA in his first game and went right at him with aggressive moves and held his own against one of the best forwards in the 2024 class. If this is a sign of things to come, Simmons looks ready to take a massive step forward this season.
