CAP6 Player of the Year: Aiden Smalls Aiden Smalls 6'1" | PG Cardinal Gibbons | 2026 State NC , Cardinal Gibbons
2026 guard Aiden Smalls Aiden Smalls 6'1" | PG Cardinal Gibbons | 2026 State NC has some more hardware to add to his cabinet as he’s this year’s Player of the Year in the CAP6 Conference. Smalls won this year’s vote by a large margin in taking home roughly 71 percent of the votes. He’s currently the 17th ranked prospect in the PrepHoops NC database. Smalls missed a few games early in the season due to injury, but when he returned, he never missed a beat in leading the Crusaders to a first-place finish in the conference and regular-season title. He finished the year averaging 16.9 PPG, 4.1 RPG, 3.5 APG and 2.0 SPG on 42 percent shooting from the field. He did well in leading his team in assists as well as scoring this season, making things happen with the ball in his hands. He’s done well to stand out on both the football field and hardwood this season at Cardinal Gibbons.
The shifty 6-foot-1 guard finished with a season-high 26 points twice on the season including 26 points back on Jan. 30 in a victory over Sanderson High. He’s the pulse for this squad who’s shown he can do a whole lot more than score the ball as well at the guard spot. He dished out at least two assists in each of his appearances and even dished out at least five assists in four of their games this season. He’s instant offense when he gets rebounds out of the net and has a high IQ for making plays, especially with the likes of Cash McSweeney Cash McSweeney 6'8" | PF Cardinal Gibbons | 2025 State NC with him on the floor.
Smalls beat out Cash McSweeney Cash McSweeney 6'8" | PF Cardinal Gibbons | 2025 State NC (Cardinal Gibbons), Jordan Page Jordan Page 6'4" | SF Broughton | 2027 State NC (Broughton) and Nathan Fife Nathan Fife 6'0" | PG Sanderson | 2025 State NC (Sanderson) to take home this year’s award.
