Another prospect I caught at the Midwest Basketball Club Fall League, Davis showed his versatility as a two-way wing with some offensive explosions and tough defensive performances guarding the opposing teams top scorer. Davis has continued this momentum into the high school season as Columbus Academy sits at 8-1. Davis also attended multiple college elite camps this past summer, at high academic programs. For schools similar to Emory, Columbia, Harvard, Cornell and Brown where Davis took visits to, those are the programs that should be looking into Davis this spring and summer.
A prospect I caught on the Prep Hoops Circuit this summer, Jones got added to our rankings after a strong showing at the Toledo Top 64. With a good first step and able to attack a closeout from the wing and knock down an open shot, Jones is a prospect who could be a name you hear a lot more about when he’s playing 17 U. Toledo St John’s has also been flying a little under the radar, as the Titans are currently unbeaten against in-state opponents. Could they make another surprise playoff run this March?
I’ve caught Clifton both at the Midwest Basketball Club Fall League in Columbus and with Dublin Coffman. The wing is a top shooter in central Ohio’s 2025 class when given time and space. We also caught Clifton on the Prep Hoops Circuit with one of the Midwest Basketball Club teams. Dublin Coffman has a younger team this season but could make a second half push, I expect 2024-25 to be the season where they make their return near the top of the OCC. A name to watch for small college programs looking for a wing shooter.
Another prospect who has made a name at Prep Hoops events, Vickerstaff was a prospect I first caught on our circuit in July and then again at our 250 Expo in the fall. I was going to add him to our rankings after a strong showing at the expo but he followed that up with a solid performance with his high school program when I caught them in December. Vickerstaff has grown a couple inches and continues to fill out his frame. Able to play either forward position, Vickerstaff is tough to stop when he’s attacking downhill.
Highlights
Sandusky is an exciting team to watch with their frantic style of play going up and down the court. Their 2025 class is very talented and Bonner makes the operation go with his trapping style defense and aggressiveness going after rebounds and loose balls. Not the most skilled prospect, Bonner is productive due to his relentless motor on both ends of the court. One of my favorite players to watch compete, I imagine Bonner will have a lot of small college interest due to his production and motor at his size.
