Expert Analysis
Shane Garcia | Prep Hoops Scout
Bonner’s effort on the glass is shockingly good. He attacks the rim so hard and jumps over everyone to get the board. He is always running to the rim on offense when the shot goes up. He is a great vertical athlete and has a nice length. He either grabs the rebound himself or knocks it around for someone else to grab. He had 9 rebounds and 6 of them were on the offensive end. He is a good finisher on the offensive end. He explodes to the rim and finishes strong. He has a great second jump. He is also a nice playmaker. He knows what to do with it when he gets the ball in the open courts and attacks the rim.

Few teams play as hard as the Blue Streaks do as they looked comfortable in their hometown with a senior trio that’s played a ton of basketball together. I thought Bonner was their most productive guy in the game I caught with his energy being the difference in the paint. With his length, activity and athleticism, Bonner is an impact defender who can jump passing lanes, block shots and pressure ball handlers. Not known as a shooter, Bonner knocked down a pair of 3-pointers which was the cherry on top of an impressive performance. Sandusky will be a major player in the new seven Division format for the OHSAA playoffs with their experience and defensive talent.

Sandusky is an exciting team to watch with their frantic style of play going up and down the court. Their 2025 class is very talented and Bonner makes the operation go with his trapping style defense and aggressiveness going after rebounds and loose balls. Not the most skilled prospect, Bonner is productive due to his relentless motor on both ends of the court. One of my favorite players to watch compete, I imagine Bonner will have a lot of small college interest due to his production and motor at his size.

Bonner came out very aggressive offensively and led all scorers after the first quarter. Able to beat slower footed forwards off the bounce, Bonner even knocked down a time and space 3-pointer. I love the motor Bonner plays with as he’s not the most skilled wing forward, but always gives 100% effort. He’s a big reason why Sandusky has been so successful this season and last year.
