Let’s check in on some stock-risers and the top prospects from the four teams.
I think Gage, the 6’6-6’7 Sophomore for Groton, improved his stock maybe the most out of any of the prospects between the two games. I hadn’t seen anyone defend Wingert that well all season. Sippel used his long arms and was playing straight-up, making things difficult for Wingert. Sippel was active, alert, and played hard. Was putting himself in advantageous positions to succeed.
Zak started out hot, scoring 10 1st quarter points and gave Groton some early confidence. He only helped his stock after this game, and he finished with 16 points. A true competitor that competes on both ends.
I think Ryder helped or maintained his stock in this matchup. He’s a long wing and was an active playmaker in this matchup. He put in 14 points. He will be counted on in big games for Groton as we get closer to playoff basketball.
The Dakota State signee gave huge effort on the court. You can tell he wanted this one. His full-court defensive pressure on the opposing ball-handler was constant and aggressive. He was making it hard on them and made them work. Offensively, he was experiencing some high-intensity on-ball defense from Dakota Valley. But I think he played within the game and didn’t force much. 13 points for the Senior.
Wingert has had better offensive games, in terms of finishing plays at the hoop and making shots from the perimeter. Still finished with 23 points, and he’s a load in the paint. I did see D2 coaches in attendance. Probably there for the 6’7 Wingert. Currently, holds only NAIA offers, by my knowledge.
Highlights
Bruns didn’t help or hurt his stock, in my opinion. He was just off a little and missed a few shots that normally go down for him. Scored 14 points.
Collette maintained his stock, scoring around his average at 11 points. Hit a game-changing three at the final seconds of the first half.
Brant continues to deliver game after game. He hit the two biggest shots in his young career, by popping two threes late in the game, putting SF Christian up 7 points, when it had been a one point game. His stock and confidence continue to climb.
The #1 rated 2025 prospect maintained his stock, scoring a game-high 25 points. He was able to use his length to score over the defense off the glass. Scored much-needed baskets late in the game.
Highlights
Snyder was crucial in this game, as usual for SF Christian. He scored 17 points. The Junior guard looks to be being recruited for football.
Wadsworth most definitely helped his stock. He hit some big shots, scoring 11 total points in the game. Got to like his build and two-way ability. Strong defender.
Neuendorf comes to play and perform at a high level every game. He was a warrior again from the point guard spot. Can’t emphasize enough his ability to impact the game in all ways. 15 points for him.
