The Best 25 Preps I Have Seen This Season

Believe it or not, we have completed a full six weeks of the season. There has been action going on in every high school gym from Vivian to Houma. While I have not seen everyone play, I have seen a ton of basketball thus far. With that, I will give you a list of the 25 best performers I have seen thus far. Considering it is two days after Christmas, we will still use the Christmas theme. While there is still plenty of basketball left to play, these players have begun this season playing some of their best basketball.   *Players will be listed in alphabetical order   1. [player_tooltip player_id='1982180' first='Jeremy' last='Bargky'] - The second best player on an undefeated LCA team. An elite level shooter and top tier defender   3. [player_tooltip player_id='2302363' first='Sharmal' last='Booker'] - He has been the best player on a Mansfield team who has played a murderous schedule. Rising combo guard in Louisiana   4. [player_tooltip player_id='1479625' first='Broderick' last='Brooks'] - A smooth scorer who gets his points within the offense. May become the Broncos most important player with [player_tooltip player_id='1159181' first='Trey'Dez' last='Green'] out   5. [player_tooltip player_id='2294816' first='Brhaelyn' last='Brown'] - Brown has been the best player on an underrated Parkway team. He may be the best catch-and-shoot prep in the state   6. [player_tooltip player_id='1480389' first='Dashawn' last='Ceaser'] - The Iowa guard has become one of the most complete players in the state. A three level scorer who defends the best player on the other team   7. [player_tooltip player_id='1105532' first='Braylen' last='Clark'] - A point guard who has led Evangel in scoring or assists in almost every game. He is a floor general and a tough defender   8. [player_tooltip player_id='1393932' first='Kerel' last='Woods-Dean'] - One of the most versatile scorers on the prep scene. When he catches the ball in the paint, he has been pretty close to unstoppable   9. [player_tooltip player_id='1218216' first='Jayce' last='Depron'] - Has performed like a top 10 prep all season. Has shown his basketball IQ with his improved defense while taking advantage of mismatches offensively   10. [player_tooltip player_id='1105536' first='Jeremiah' last='Evans'] - The Southwood big man has been his best against all competition this season. He is an impact player at both ends   11. [player_tooltip player_id='1347180' first='Xavier' last='Ferguson'] - One of the best wings to lace it up this season. His willingness to attack the tin has made him a threat at all levels   12. [player_tooltip player_id='1480390' first='Desa'monte' last='Gradney'] - One of the premier point guards in the state. Iowa is at the top of DII Non-select due to his play as a facilitator   13. [player_tooltip player_id='1560430' first='Rondae' last='Hill'] - The Cavaliers have gotten off to a good start due to his play. Hill has become a smart lead guard who can score at every level   14. [player_tooltip player_id='1105543' first='Krystian' last='Lewis'] - The Wossman guard is one of the better two-way players in the state. His shooting ability stretches the floor for team success   15. [player_tooltip player_id='1492968' first='Chris' last='Lindo'] - On a Madison Prep team loaded with talent, Lindo has been one of their better players. His ability to use the dribble to score has impressed this season   16. [player_tooltip player_id='1105592' first='Colossians' last='Mason-Jones'] - Combo guard who has a quick release. He can score via catch-and-shoot or pull ups off the dribble   17. [player_tooltip player_id='1347276' first='Tate' last='McCurry'] - A legitimate, top tier shooter. With his ability to attack the rim and shoot from deep, he keeps defenses guessing constantly   18. [player_tooltip player_id='1699870' first='E'Joshua' last='McDonald'] - The all-state corner has shown he can be a high caliber baller. His consistent shooting has taken his game to another level   19. [player_tooltip player_id='1105548' first='Michael' last='Mouton'] - A unique wing player who can score in the paint just as well as he can shoot from beyond the arc. Very high basketball IQ   20. [player_tooltip player_id='1492966' first='Lantavious' last='Murphy'] - Two way player who can guard as many as five positions. He is best when he has the ball in his hands   21. [player_tooltip player_id='1388006' first='Lavion' last='Owens'] - His play in the paint and his basketball IQ are off the charts. He may be undersized but he causes defenders of all sizes fits   22. [player_tooltip player_id='1105551' first='Jyrin' last='Sowell'] - Probably one of the strongest wings we have in Louisiana. He can defend all positions and scores effectively in the paint and at the rim   23. [player_tooltip player_id='1347267' first='Drew' last='Timmons'] - One of the most active players on the hardwood. His constant movement aids in his ability to score inside and out. #1 rated in his class   24. [player_tooltip player_id='2313822' first='Javon' last='Vital'] - Active guard who has shown he can be a lock down defender because of his strong upper body and lateral movement. Gets to the rim effectively   25. [player_tooltip player_id='1105554' first='Kameron' last='Williams'] - Deservedly recognized as the best player in his class. Williams can handle like a guard, rebound like a power forward, and shoot like an elite wing. Ultra talented.   Look for these players and others during holiday tournaments and the beginning of district play.
