Praytor is a diamond in the rough, bringing impressive upside as a versatile offensive weapon. Showing flashes as a floor spacer, the forward takes it up a notch with off the dribble shotmaking when presented with enough space. There is little opponents can do to contest such shot attempts, given his 6’10 frame. There is no doubt the forward is primed for a breakout season, set for much greater opportunity both in shot selection and leadership opportunities. Particularly mobile at his height, the forward can get up and down the floor with ease, active with two-handed dunks. His defensive potential is particularly intriguing, given his mobility and wide reach. Simply put, Praytor has some of the highest upside of anyone in the class, we should get a better look at him this season.
Highlights
Kalimba appears to be particularly impactful defensively, boasting strength and wide reach allowing him to guard 1-3. They do an excellent job contesting shot attempts down low or out on the perimeter, likely a matchup nightmare for the vast majority of opposing shotmakers. Kalimba was particularly active swatting away shot attempts around the rim, possessing a patience necessary to not foul. His ability to be a dependable 3 & D weapon for Eaglecrest will be particularly interesting, although there is no doubt they will be one of the state’s best programs.
A wiry strong wing, Black-Knox should provide plenty of value for Rangeview’s fast paced team. Active getting out early in transition for outlets, they work hard to make themselves available while off-ball. Often utilized off-ball due to the wide variety of ball handlers available, Black-Knox does an excellent job slashing into the lane, growing his versatility scoring with pivots around the basket. Knocking down nearly 40% of three point attempts last season, they will provide a valuable component to Rangeview’s high octane perimeter centric offense. This group will be among the most exciting organizations to follow in the Denver metro, playing fast and prioritizing aggressive defense versus ball handlers.
Bertholf is a high motor player who impacts the game in a wide variety of areas. Especially productive rebounding the ball, the guard possesses plenty of strength outmuscling opponents on box outs. Although particularly productive inside the arc, Bertholf has continued to work on his shot mechanics, becoming more dependable on spot-up attempts along the perimeter. The guard’s impact on the glass will be particularly interesting, playing bigger than seen with the vast majority of backcourt prospects.
Highlights
Hubert has shown upside as a perimeter shooter, possessing a quick release with a notable height advantage. The guard should provide value as a complementary shotmaker for a new look program, although he can get downhill off of the closeout if necessary. He will play a factor in Dakota Ridge’s potent offense, featuring multiple excellent shooters, Hubert included there. Given his tall frame, Hubert’s defensive impact will be worth monitoring, certainly capable of contesting shots from rotations or at the point of attack.
