Analysis: While Central Catholic is our pre-season #1 pick the Rams are led by two great players whereas #2 ranked Tualatin has a singular top guy, which gives Steppe our nod for 6A Player of the Year. Atkins and Boe were First Team All-State last year which made them easy selections to repeat and with Hill coming back home a bona fide D-I recruit and making Roosevelt a top contender, his choice was pretty straightforward as well. In splitting Carr and Zeller, we went with Carr on the first team and Zeller on the second.
As always, players who are projected league Player of the Year winners are All-State honorees in our book, which gives Kefgen, Leach, and Weiland the nods on the second team. What’s interesting about these selections is that even with a couple of out-of-state transfers (Winters Grady, Boden Howell), there are still so many non-seniors represented – the 2024-25 honorees will very much look the same as well.
