Avery was his usual self putting on a show with some explosive dunks in the game I watched. If he gets a lane to the rim, look out, because he’s able to take flight and throw down in traffic. Avery had a handful of transition dunks while also showcasing his shot creation ability in the half-court. Can step-back for three or beat his man to the rim off the dribble. He averaged 2.2 ppg last season for Middleton, but looks ready to take on a much bigger role this winter as a senior.
Tyler Evenson Tyler Evenson 6’3″ | SG Waukesha West | 2026 WI was quietly producing every time he was on the floor. He has that style of play where he never looks sped up, and makes plays look effortless. Tyler was just gliding to the basket and contorting his body in a number of ways for crafty finishes. Also showcased the ability to stop, play off two feet, and create open looks with a mix of his footwork/shot-fakes in the paint. Evenson is also more than capable of stepping out and knocking down threes. Was 2.3 ppg scorer last winter as a freshman playing varsity.
Ahmir looks ready for a big time junior season at Golda Meir. He’s been impressing with some big performances all fall, including over the weekend in Appleton. The long and lanky guard is a gifted space creator, and all game long he was creating separation from his defender to get off mid-range shots. Really good change of speed with the ability to cover a lot of ground in one stride. Steps on to the court with the mentality that no one can stop him from putting points on the board.
Highlights
Netayo may have been the most explosive player in the building on Sunday. He can flat out fly to the basket, but that explosiveness translates to the defensive end as well. Stencil was able to sit deep in a stance and consistently move his feet to cut off opposing ball handlers. Good rebounder as a guard too because of his ability to elevate and high point the ball. Turned defense into offense as he broke loose in transition and took flight for an explosive dunk in the game I watched.
Owen is another player looking to take a leap forward as a senior. He’s an explosive forward who plays a bit bigger than his height at 6’5. Impressed with his ability to elevate effortlessly to finish at the rim. Had one play where he caught on the block, quickly drop-stepped to his left, and exploded off the floor for a two handed dunk. Has the competitive edge to defend against bigger forwards while also being able to move his feet with wings. Owen does a nice job of finding a body to box-out as soon as a shot goes up, which allowed him to pull in rebounds in bulk.
At 5’8 Demitrius was able to carve out a role for himself on a talented Dominican team last winter as a freshman. When watching him it’s easy to see why. He has elite lateral quickness and a motor that never stops on both ends of the floor. Taylor is constantly pressuring the ball on defense and looking to force mistakes from opposing ball handlers by speeding them up. On the offense he’s always in attack mode, and is fearless attacking the basket an looking to finish at the rim against bigger players. Also had some nice drive-and-kick passes to set his shooters up with open looks.
