One of the better players in the always-tough Classic Eight Conference, Evenson appears poised for a breakout season for coach Dan LaValle and the Wolverines. After a solid showing on the club circuit over the summer, Evenson appears to have the required confidence to succeed against very good competition. As a sophomore, Evenson started for a young team at Waukesha West and he averaged 15.5 points and 2.7 rebounds. He is one of four key returning players and will play an enormous role as the Wolverines set out to improve upon an 8-18 record.

Tyler had a productive sophomore season last year for Waukesha West, and it’s easy to see why. The 6’4 guard is such a crafty finisher around the rim, and is able to get looks off the drive, in transition, and with hard cuts off the ball. Does a great job of mixing in reverse lay-ups and off-foot finishes to catch defenders off guard, and it allows him to score against taller/more athletic defenders. For someone who will likely take the most shots on his team in a majority of games, he does a great job of picking his moments, and it allows him to score with efficiency.

I didn’t have Evenson on my player list, as he was a late addition to the event, but he played well enough that I asked who he was so I could be sure to include him in my coverage. From what I could tell, Evenson was at max effort whenever he was on the court. He hustled, took the ball to the hole with confidence, and was aggressive on the glass. Evenson also has the ability to shoot from deep and has a smooth catch and shoot flow with a nice release.

A true full-day standout. After a solid 1v1 showing, he had the hot hand early in the opening 5v5 game. Kicked things off with a pair of contact finishes inside. Even involved as a playmaker and rebounder. Picking up numerous second-chance opportunities. Spaces out for open shots on the offensive end and stayed consistent throughout the contest. Smooth baseline finish towards the end of the second game. High motor prospect.

The first name to emerge from the event. 6’3″ CG showed tons of physicality on both ends during this segment. Nailed a pair of turnaround jumpers with a hand in his face. Reverse layup shortly after. Hails from Waukesha, WI.

was quietly producing every time he was on the floor. He has that style of play where he never looks sped up, and makes plays look effortless. Tyler was just gliding to the basket and contorting his body in a number of ways for crafty finishes. Also showcased the ability to stop, play off two feet, and create open looks with a mix of his footwork/shot-fakes in the paint. Evenson is also more than capable of stepping out and knocking down threes. Was 2.3 ppg scorer last winter as a freshman playing varsity.
