Will was one of the more under control players during Friday’s action using his quickness, vision, and skill to make the correct decisions in a variety of settings. Still is extremely smooth and does a great job of getting his shoulders downhill on closeout reads. In his early morning game, Still facilitated opportunities in transition, in the half court, and scored the ball efficiently. Will led 24:UP with 14 points and was the best player on the floor in their matchup with ABC Young Lions
. Still will be a player to monitor moving forward into the July live period, and headed into his senior season.
Still, a 6-1 incoming junior, for Waukesha West, clearly stood out as one of the best players in the games that I watched. What immediately jumped out was Still’s motor where he seemed to always be in the center of the action on both ends of the floor. Dominating on the glass, Still regularly started the fast break pushing tempo and made good decisions whether that was using his excellent court vision finding teammates for easy buckets, finishing in traffic, or pulling up from three.
Still was a bright spot for the 16u 24:UP Program with his strong decision making, overall quickness, and his ability to knock down shots all over the floor. Will is extremely shifty with his quickness and ability to read defenders out of pick and roll offense. Although shots did not always fall for teammates, Still makes the right reads and knows when to score it and when to kick it out to teammates on rotations. On numerous occasions, Still was able to play off of two feet, and stay under control to command the 24:UP offense. The prospect out of Waukesha West, is one to keep an eye on as he develops with strength and his skilset.
Still lit up the scoreboard for 24:UP as a dynamic perimeter threat. Known for his smooth mechanics and consistent arc, he was automatic from the corners and steady in the midrange. His ability to space the floor in transition kept defenses stretched, earning him the title of a true “microwave” scorer.
