Here’s a look at how some schools will look to replace their 2023 D1 Seniors who are now playing college ball.
English is already prepared to fill in for Grant Whitaker’s spot as the top dog at Murray after last season. Whitaker missed a lot of his Senior season due to an injury suffered in the preseason. While he was out, Lincoln carried a large portion of the Murray offense, With Grant now at Bellarmine, Lincoln will be expected to bear the brunt of the offense for the Tigers.

Madison Central lost Jaylen Davis to Liberty and Robby Todd to EKU. It’s a full blown rebuild for the Indians this season. Steele is the lone player who contributed much of anything last season as Coach Feldhaus primarily only played 5 players all season long. Look for Sophomores Luke Asher Luke Asher 6’5″ | PF Madison Central | 2026 State KY and Matthew Pasley Matthew Pasley 6’6″ | C Madison Central | 2026 State KY to both do their part to try and keep the Indians relevant in the 23-24 season.
GRC also graduated two Seniors to D1 schools as Trent Edwards is now at Morgan State. Montez Gay Montez Gay 6’5″ | SF George Rogers Clark | 2027 State KY should be expected to have a big role for Coach Cook’s squad this season. At 6’5, Montez will be the tallest player on the Cardinal roster and will have opportunities to play both inside and out. Along with Tyce Jarvis Tyce Jarvis 6’5″ | SG Montgomery County | 2027 State KY at Montgomery County, it looks like the 10th region has some young studs who will be counted on for a lot in their freshman season.
If you were to look at Lloyd Memorial’s stats from last year, you may be surprised to see that Jeremiah Israel was actually their leading scorer by 7.5 points over Walker and only trailed Walker by .1 rebounds per game. As a Junior, look for EJ to be the go to scorer for Juggernauts and be counted on to make big strides in his overall impact on the game to keep Lloyd near the top of the always loaded 9th region.
Who better to replace Bellarmine freshman Kenyon Goodin than his younger brother, Kade? As an 8th grader, Kade started varsity for the Titans and did the majority of the ball handling at the point guard spot. Coach Gaither has told me that the younger Goodin is the most talented player he’s had since 2020 Mr Basketball Dayvion McKnight. After losing Isaiah Cochran Isaiah Cochran 6’6″ | SF Adair County | 2025 State #383 Nation KY to Adair County, Kade will need to be ready to step up and be much more aggressive as a scorer than he was last season when he was more of a facilitator.
