Steve Quattrocchi | Prep Hoops Scout
Kade is a two sport star who has only played one basketball game this season because he’s been working back from injury. Goodin is following a path like his older brother. Although he’s known for football first, Kade is a good enough athlete that he’ll have basketball opportunities eventually.

One of the best pure athletes in the 27 class, Goodin is already attracting a ton of attention from D1 football coaches but he’s a really good basketball player as well. Kade is mostly a facilitator for Collins right now and doesn’t force his offense or take a ton of bad shots. Goodin has good size and D1 genetics. If he starts becoming a better shooter from range, he could be a D1 sleeper in hoops and not just in football.

Who better to replace Bellarmine freshman Kenyon Goodin than his younger brother, Kade? As an 8th grader, Kade started varsity for the Titans and did the majority of the ball handling at the point guard spot. Coach Gaither has told me that the younger Goodin is the most talented player he’s had since 2020 Mr Basketball Dayvion McKnight. After losing Isaiah Cochran Isaiah Cochran 6'6" | SF Adair County | 2025 State #383 Nation KY to Adair County, Kade will need to be ready to step up and be much more aggressive as a scorer than he was last season when he was more of a facilitator.

Goodin is a D1 athlete and has already been offered by Eastern Kentucky as a quarterback. His older brother is a freshman at Bellarmine. His dad coached college for years. He’s grown up around the game. The only thing keeping him from being a top ranked 2027 right now is that he doesn’t play AAU (due to baseball and 7 on 7). Long story short, I’m interested to see how Goodin’s game has progressed since I saw him last winter. If his jump shot has improved, he’s likely Collins’ best player since they lost Isaiah Cochran Isaiah Cochran 6'6" | SF Adair County | 2025 State #383 Nation KY to transfer.

Goodin started varsity all last season for Collins and will likely be their best player as a freshman. He’s also a three sport star who is one of the best 2027 football players in Kentucky and a star on the baseball diamond. Kade is not a great shooter right now but plays super hard and is a tenacious on ball defender. It will be interesting to see how he operates this season as more of a go to scorer.

Goodin played with extreme poise for only being in the 8th grade. Was probably one of the most composed player on the floor for Collins, always making the right plays and didn’t get sped up. Strong driver that changed speeds to get to the rim. Didn’t score a ton, but was overall just impressed how he helped run the team and settle Collins down.

The younger brother to Kenyon, Kade is possibly a better athlete than his brother who just signed D1 for football. Coach Gaither compared him favorably to Collins legend Dayvion McKnight. Goodin is much more of a driver than a shooter right now but he’s starting at point guard for a top 10 team in Kentucky and showing he can run a team before he’s even in high school.
