The Mason duo of Kirklin and Ben Menker Ben Menker 6’5″ | SF Mason | 2024 State OH impressed together as the duo combined for a majority of the points their team scored in the championship game. I really like the motor that Kirklin plays with, going hard for loose balls and getting a lot of rebounds for a guard his size. Tough to stop in the open floor, Kirklin got some easy transition buckets. Look for Kirklin to help add to the depth the Comets will have in the GMC this winter.
One of the bigger prospects in the fall league, Kebe has improved week after week this fall. Liked to score over his right shoulder using his preferred left hand when catching the ball with his back to the basket. Kebe also set strong screens to help free up his guards and made a couple nice passes when double teamed. Biggest area of progression for Kebe will be moving his feet in space defensively and becoming more switchable on the perimeter. He showed solid growth this fall and I’m excited to continue to monitor his development.
The third leading scorer for Clark Montessori last year, I was impressed with Foster in both games I caught of his on Saturday. Hitting a couple hand down, man down 3-pointers, Foster is a guard who must close out on and he will punish you if given time and space. Defensively, Foster caused turnovers with his havoc defense and in one stretch got back-to-back steals that led to fast break scores in a 15 second span. Look for Foster to put up even bigger numbers as a Junior this winter.
Darrick Boston
Darrick Boston
Boston hit a handful of shots from the perimeter and shot the ball with confidence off the catch. Showed good pace when attacking off the bounce and used the floater to finish in the paint when shot blockers were waiting for him at the rim. His ability to get by the initial defender allowed him to get to the basket and look to either score or find a teammate. After scoring 8.8 PPG as a Junior, look for Boston to reach double figures this season.
Another one of the tallest prospects in the fall league, Wolujewicz showed a lot of promise on Saturday. Having a big size advantage on the interior, he used his height to grab rebounds over smaller prospects and score on second and third chances. His team fell behind in the first half but started using a full court press in the second half to turn momentum and I was encouraged by how hard Wolujewicz worked in the press. Bigs usually take longer to develop and Wolujewicz is just starting to develop into the player he could become in a few years time.
