[player_tooltip player_id='1502796' first='Darnez' last='Slater'], 2024, Eastvale Roosevelt

Slater put together a huge second half effort in helping lead the Mustangs to a comeback win over St. Bernard. The 6-foot-3 combo guard nailed a handful of three-pointers, rebounded in and out of his area on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor and made big play after big play down the stretch of a tightly contested game. Slater scored 17 of his 21 points in the second half.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630668' first='Denis' last='Woods'], 2025, Bishop Montgomery

This might be a bit of rebuilding year for Bishop Montgomery as they lost a handful of key seniors from last year's team but Woods was one of the bright spots for the Knights. The 6-foot-2 combo guard scored a team-high 21 points in a loss to a good Santa Ana Foothill team. Woods is an intriguing long-term prospect because of his length, athleticism and feel for the game on both ends of the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630631' first='Douglas' last='Langford'], 2025, St. Pius X-St. Matthias

Langford had himself a dunk-fest in Pius' morning win over Pacifica Christian/Orange County. The 6-foot-8 forward made a living rim-running in transition and using his fluid athleticism and great hands to catch, gather and finish above the rim. The junior scored all 18 points in a dominant first-half effort that led to a 76-59 decision.

Drew Anderson, 2026, Santa Margarita

Anderson was the biggest surprise of the day for most of the scouts/media in attendance. The 6-foot-7 wing got hot from three-point range and connected on five triples with fluid and fundamental shooting mechanics. Anderson also flashed some off the bounce game and mid-range shooting ability. The sophomore finished with a game-high 29 points in the Eagles' loss to Campbell Hall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1502781' first='Jack' last='Turner'], 2024, St. John Bosco

Turner took a major hit and fall on a drive to the rim that looked like it might knock him out of the game, but after being checked out by the athletic trainer he made his way back onto the floor and scored 13 points in the Braves win over Windward. Turner is a lightning rod of a scorer who hits the catch and shoot three with consistency and can also get downhill and to the basket in transition.
