Connor figures to be one of the frontrunners for Racine County Player of the Year coming off a 16.7 ppg junior season at Burlington. He’s one of the top 2024 wing prospects in the state because he offers lights out three point shooting in a 6’4-6’5 frame. Already possessing good positional size, he also gets a good amount of lift on his jumper making it even more difficult to contest. Had some moments of dominance last winter with games of 34 and 30 points.
Highlights
Willie will look to help Park improve upon their 13-13 record from last season, which came just a year after going 4-21. He was a bit inconsistent last year, but showed flashes of being able to provide an offensive spark. May not provide a ton of size, but is tough as nails attacking the basket and finishing through contact. He’s shown impressive body control to hang in the air and finish at difficult angles off the glass. Defensively he’s not afraid to pick up full-court and just be a pest on the ball. Park was a team that could cause some chaos with their ball pressure last year, and turn turnovers into offense the other way.
Carsen was already a team captain for Prairie last season as just a sophomore, and went on to average 11.6 ppg on the season. He had a couple of cold shooting spells that brought his numbers down, but from watching him in a variety of settings he’s a solid outside shooter that can help stretch the floor for his team. Does a nice job of scanning the floor while attacking allowing him to locate an open teammate around the rim or on the perimeter. The Metro Classic Conference is filled with high level guards, and Carsen looks ready to embrace the challenge as a junior.
Highlights
Karsen was an honorable mention all-conference selection last season, and will look to take another jump as a senior. At 6’4 he provides some additional length to the floor with the ability to play on the wing or as a forward. Can step outside and knock down the open three while also utilizing his length as a crafty finisher around the basket. Strong rebounder who pulled in 6 boards a game to go along with 7.4 ppg as a junior.
Highlights
Caden scored 5 ppg playing varsity as a freshman last winter, and followed that up by helping lead 24:Up to the 15u championship on the UA Rise circuit over the summer. Now at 6’1 he’s capable of playing either guard spot as he can handle it well under pressure and facilitate as a point guard. Off the ball he’s capable of stretching the floor with his shooting range, is very smart with his off-ball cuts, and has a nice shot fake into a one/two dribble pull-up. Waterford should have one of the more underrated backcourts in Southeastern Wisconsin, especially if Caden makes a leap during his second year of high school.
Highlights
Justin Jones
Justin Jones
Racine Lutheran has a lot of young talent coming up, and Justin led the pack with 13.2 ppg last season as a sophomore. He has a very long frame at 6’2 with a solid build. His fluid handle allows him to beat his defender off the dribble to get into the paint, where he can go right at the rim or score over the top with his floater. If Justin can cut back on some of the turnovers and bump up his three point percentage a bit, he should be in for a strong junior season.
Michael Farr
Michael Farr
Michael was at Horlick last year where he was a 5.3 ppg scorer for the varsity team. He has good strength at his size combined with quick feet which make him a tough on-ball defender. Able to get right up under guys and pressure the ball to force mistakes. Plays with good pace on the ball and isn’t afraid to get into the lane to finish against size or look to create open shots for his teammates.
Eddie Vinson Jr
Eddie Vinson Jr
EJ was another player who saw varsity time as a freshman last year, playing in 17 games and scoring 3.1 ppg for the Angels. He’s tough as nails attacking the basket, and has impressive body control allowing him to convert on otherwise difficult looks around the basket. Even at his size he has no fear going right at opposing bigs, with the ability to draw contact and earn chances at the FT line. Also possesses a nice mid-range game which allows him to pull-up for a jumper if defenders sag off too much. St. Cats lost a lot from last year’s roster, so the opportunity is there for Vinson to make a big leap as a sophomore.
