Expert Analysis
Michael Roth | Prep Hoops Scout
A strong wing who wanted to play above the rim in transition, Jones used his strength and athleticism to dominate in the open court. Defense turned to offense quickly when Jones was on the court and his Racine Truth squad looked dominant in the afternoon.

Justin’s outside shot wasn’t falling, but he made up for it with his finishing and effort on the glass. Dominican was missing their main shot blocking threat, so Justin made it a priority to get to the rim for high percentage looks. He shot 9-14 on his looks from inside the arc, while also earning a few trips to the free throw line. His effort on the glass was impressive as well, as the 6’3 guard kept some possessions alive on offense, and was able to secure rebounds in a crowd defensively. He finished with 23 points and 11 rebounds while playing every minute of the game.

Justin looks set for a nice senior season at Racine Lutheran. Racine Truth doesn’t have a lot of size, so they rely on ball pressure and quick buckets against bigger teams. Justin excels in that fast paced style of play as he’s a strong finisher in transition, and has good instincts to jump lazy passes and get out in the open floor. Has always been able to attack the basket off the dribble and use his strong frame to finish, but this summer he’s showing to be a much more consistent shooter. Leave him open from three and he can make you pay.

Justin continued his strong spring with Racine Truth . Despite the loss to All Wisconsin, he showcased an improved jumper that should make him even more dangerous next winter as a senior. He’s always had a fluid handle with a strong frame and size at 6’3 that makes him dangerous attacking the basket, but he knocked down three 2nd half threes in the game I saw, suggesting he’s growing into a more versatile scoring threat.

Justin had a strong showing on Sunday morning helping lead his Racine Truth team past Illinois TWolves . He was tough to stop in transition, mixing in some strong finishes at the rim with a couple of dimes to his teammates running alongside him. Jones has a strong frame with good positional size at 6’3, and with that he was able to convert on some tough finishes through contact. Also stretched the floor with a couple of jumpers. Will be apart of a very talented Racine Lutheran backcourt as a senior.
