Willie will look to help Park improve upon their 13-13 record from last season, which came just a year after going 4-21. He was a bit inconsistent last year, but showed flashes of being able to provide an offensive spark. May not provide a ton of size, but is tough as nails attacking the basket and finishing through contact. He’s shown impressive body control to hang in the air and finish at difficult angles off the glass. Defensively he’s not afraid to pick up full-court and just be a pest on the ball. Park was a team that could cause some chaos with their ball pressure last year, and turn turnovers into offense the other way.

Despite the loss to a tough Chicago Xtreme team, Willie had some nice moments for Wisconsin Elite . The junior point guard showed excellent change of speed on the ball, allowing him to get by his man and get downhill towards the basket. He was one of the smaller players on the floor but was able to go right into defenders and keep his chin at the rim to finish off some difficult chances through contact. Had a couple of last second dump off passes leading to easy buckets for his teammates as well. On the defensive end he’s a pest on the ball de to his quickness and his willingness to get right up under opposing ball handlers and make things difficult for them. Was also competing with taller players for rebounds on both ends of the floor.

Willie showed a ton of potential as an underclassman, and now as a junior it’s time to start turning that into consistent production. In Park’s season opener he did just that as he finished with a team high 18 points while pulling in 6 rebounds. He’s a gritty player with an explosive burst around the basket who rarely seems to miss when he gets into the paint. Willie has impressive body control to elevate, take some contact, and keep his eyes on the rim to finish at a high percentage. Even with bigger players around him Willie was often coming up with rebounds because of his effort and ability to get two hands on the ball and rip it free. Defensively he drew the task of guarding South Milwaukee’s best player and held him to a very quite first half before his team started to free him up with off-ball screens. Willie’s motor never stops, and that should allow him to consistently guard opposing teams’ best players while also going down and providing a scoring threat for his team.
