The top ranked prospect at the event, Washington was showing exactly why we think so highly of him on Saturday. A freak athlete who is in the middle of a huge football season, Washington had maybe the highlight of the event with a poster dunk off an alley-oop pass from his teammate. A name that mid to high major programs will continue to get familiar with over the next few years.

A point guard who makes his teammates better, I saw more of a scoring mentality from Siegfried on Saturday. Able to play off two feet at the rim, Siegfried is crafty at the rim and his best finish of the day was a lefty floater. From the triple threat, Siegfried was also getting by the primary guard defender and either looking to score or kickout to a shooter on the perimeter. One of the top prospects in the building, expect Siegfried’s recruitment to take shape starting next spring.

This Louisville pair were on the same team and showed off their chemistry together. The biggest thing I noticed about Nigro on Saturday was his confidence as a 3-point shooter off the catch. That’s been the biggest skill improvement that he needed to make and based on Saturday, he appears more confident from 3-point range and hit a high percentage of those looks. He’s always been tough to stop at the rim with his functional strength and he had more than a handful of right handed finishes through contact. A name to watch for regional scholarship programs.

A guy that central Ohio fans will start to learn this winter, Joy is set for a breakout senior season with Olentangy Orange. A big time shooter, Joy made it rain from the corner on spot-up opportunities. I also appreciated Joy’s effort running the floor, getting a couple easy layups from his hustle. Olentangy Orange graduated three scholarship guards from last year’s team, but with players like Joy returning, they’ll be a tough out once again in central Ohio.

A new name for myself, Johnson really caught my eye with a diverse scoring effort. Hit some early 3-pointers showing the confidence to make shots off the bounce from long distance. As a point guard, Johnson also made some impressive passes including a behind the back dime for an easy layup. Defensively, Johnson had a pickpocket steal and jumped a passing lane for a steal, both led to easy layups. I left really impressed with Johnson’s game as one of the top performers I had previously been unaware of.
