Siegfried brings to the table what you want out of a senior point guard. He brings a confidence and swagger to him. By the way, he moves on the floor this energy is contagious to his teammates. He is a competitor. The ball does not stick to his hands. He broke the full-court zone easily with his IQ and passing. He gets it out and the ball moves to teammates. He knocked down multiple threes in the game. He never forced anything scoring-wise. He picked his spots well.

Committed to Ashland, Siegfried has become a more consistent scorer and 3-point shooter as a senior with a Louisville squad that has state-title aspirations. An senior-led group with a bunch of chemistry and big game experience, Siegfried has had some big games at showcase events like Flyin’ To The Hoop and most recently against Richmond Heights. With his two-way ability, I could see Siegfried getting early minutes at the college level.

Louisville had a tough battle with Westerville North and suffered their first loss of the season. The experienced Leopards stayed competitive for almost the entirety of the game before the Warriors pulled away in the final two minutes. I was impressed with Siegfried’s offensive scoring ability on a night where shots simply weren’t falling for the Leopards. Siegfried did a nice job making the open shots he found within the flow of the offense and was able to attack the rim with a couple two foot finishes through contact. Still a state title contender, we’ll be hearing more about the Leopards as the year progresses.

Louisville has taken a huge rise as a program over the past few seasons with Will Aljancic (Findlay) and Hayden Nigro (Walsh) becoming Division II GMAC players. It appears Siegfried and

could be next in line as Leopards to commit to GMAC programs. Siegfried recently posted two offers last week from Ashland (in the GMAC) and Mount Vernon Nazarene (NAIA). We’ll see if Siegfried ends up committing to one of those two schools or if one of the handful of programs that have also shown him interest end up getting the tough floor general.

The last prospect to feature in this article is another point guard, this time from the 330. Louisville has elevated its status as a program thanks to players like Siegfried. A floor general who wants to get teammates involved first, Siegfried plays like the coaches son that he is on the court. I also like the defensive ability of Siegfried, taking pride in that end of the court with an improving frame to handle college physicality when the time comes. The Gurus of Go are a program that has seen a majority of their roster remain the same over the years and that’s allowed them to build excellent chemistry. Regional scholarship programs should take a look at Siegfried and a couple other members of the Gurus of Go squad that’s had a strong spring and will look to carry their momentum into July.

Not the only Gurus of Go member to impress, Siegfried had a strong overall weekend as the primary ball handler and point guard for a team that’s built a ton of chemistry over the years together. Siegfried is really shooting the ball at an efficient rate from 3-point range, especially when his feet are set. A point guard who wants to push the pace, his eyes are always up and he throws it ahead of teammates streaking down the court. Siegfried also really works on the defensive end of the court, showing his value on both ends. There’s a handful of priority small college targets on the Gurus of Go squad who drew as many college coaches as any Ohio program this weekend.

Louisville has had one of the best seasons in school history and Siegfried has been the engine behind the offensive juggernaut. One of the top scoring teams in the region, the Leopards get out and run on anybody and everybody. Siegfried’s ability to set the table allowed him set the mark for assists in the area. A high IQ point guard who is a coach’s son, Siegfried gets his teammates involved as good as anybody in northeast Ohio. For the Leopards to win a Division I district title, Siegfried will need to keep up his strong level of play thus far.

An old school type of point guard, Siegfried has impacted winning at both the grassroots and high school level. Really gets after you defensively and applies ball pressure to opposing ball handlers. A good shooter from the outside, Siegfried doesn’t need a lot of field goal attempts to make a big impact on the game. Louisville has been one of the top teams in northeast Ohio and their only loss has come on the road to Saint Ignatius. With Siegfried running the show, the Leopards have one of the toughest offenses to stop in northeast Ohio.
