I’m not sure there’s a more improved player in the state over the past six to eight months than Nwokolo. After batting injuries with Reynoldsburg and never finding a perfect rhythm and a slow start during April live periods, Nwokolo has been a different player ever since the Dallas EYBL session where he averaged 10 points and five rebounds a game on 63/60/91 shooting splits. From that moment on we’ve seen Nwokolo show improved confidence as a perimeter shooter, able to create for himself off the bounce and looking even more athletic. College programs are taking notice as well with recent offers from Ohio, Eastern Michigan and Kent State. If Nwokolo can pick up where he left off this June for Reynoldsburg in the winter, he’ll continue to climb our rankings and pick up more offers from low to mid major programs.
Olentangy Orange was one of the top teams in central Ohio with their three headed monster of senior guards leading the way. That leaves space for Brown to take over as the leader on the team and prove himself as one of the top players in central Ohio. A skilled wing who can create for others and attack off the bounce, the patience and poise that Brown plays with is impressive for his age. I expect Brown to step in and find a lot of success as the top option for the Pioneers who have reloaded for another run at a district championship. Expect Division II, NAIA and even Low Major programs to keep tabs on Brown throughout the next 12 months as his recruitment is set to take shape.
Another huge stock riser, Kayser had a great summer with impressive performances with Minford during the month of June and Midwest Basketball Club Gold in July. He had some big scoring outbursts against 3SSB opponents in Rock Hill, proving that this small-town talent can get it done on the big stage. Kayser loves the mid post area where he can take bank shots and show off his impressive touch. Improving as an athlete at the rim, Kayser has shown improved explosiveness to get above the rim for finishes and blocks. The combo of Kayser and Myles Montgomery Myles Montgomery 5’9″ | PG Minford | 2025 State OH make Minford potentially the top team in all of southeast Ohio next season.
