Continue ReadingWith the final live period of the summer coming to an end, we thought it would be a good time to take a look at some of the prospects who have seen their recruitment pick up the most. We will take a look at those prospects who have picked up division offers so far this summer, and a little about their game. Here’s a look at part four of the 2025 MD prospects who have new schools recruiting them this summer.
Omari Witherspoon Omari Witherspoon 6'4" | CG St. John's | 2025 State MD | 6’3” PG | St. John’s
Prep Hoops MD Ranking: #30
Spring/Summer Offers: American, Loyola, Towson, Nicholls, ODU
Witherspoon is part of a DC Premier team that saw quite a bit of recruitment over the summer, and he was one of the breakout players and should see himself move up the rankings in the next update. The 6’3” lead guard showed great feel over the summer getting his teammates involved and running the show for them, he was dynamic in transition with his ability to get to the rim and finish or make plays for others, he can make shots from multiple levels and he sets the tone defensively. He’ll move to St. John’s where he’ll have a chance to show his ability to run a very good team in a structured and talented league.
Mason Ellison | 6’4” SF | Loyola-Blakefield
Prep Hoops MD Ranking: #34
Spring/Summer Offers: Loyola, Towson
Ellison made a name for himself during last high school season, and he continued that strong play for Loyola throughout the summer and made a name for himself with college coaches doing that. The 6’4” wing is a big time athlete who gets out in transition and can play above the rim when he gets downhill, he plays with a high motor on both ends of the floor and is a very good rebounder and he is becoming a more consistent shooter from deep every day. As he continues to improve he’ll see his recruitment continue to pick up and he should have Loyola-Blakefiled as a contender this year.
Kade Sebastian Kade Sebastian 6'4" | SG DeMatha | 2025 State MD | 6’5” SG | DeMatha
Prep Hoops MD Ranking: #36
Spring/Summer Offers: Towson, Bryant
Sebastian is the type of player that college coaches should love, as he has shown time and time again that he’s willing to do whatever it takes to win and has played well so far in high school career. At 6’5” Sebastian has good size and plays with a terrific motor as he’ll fight for loose balls and sacrifice his body to help his team, he’s a good shooter from deep who can knock it down off the catch and he has a great IQ and makes the right play consistently. He’s the type of player who will simply make teams better and make a positive impact when he’s on the floor.
Joseph Green Joseph Green 6'2" | CG Mount St. Joseph | 2025 State MD | 6’2” CG | Mount St. Josephs
Prep Hoops MD Ranking: #38
Spring/Summer Offers: NC A&T
Green has been an under the radar player for MSJ over the past few years, and he’s starting to come around and picked his first offer from NC A&T this summer. The 6’2” combo has a poise to him as he plays under control and handles pressure and makes plays for others, he can knock down shots from deep and in the midrange, he gets downhill and finishes well at the rim and he’s a good on ball defender as well.
Jayson Peterson Jayson Peterson 6'8" | C Bullis | 2025 State MD | 6’7” PF | Bullis
Prep Hoops MD Ranking: #39
Spring/Summer Offers: Albany, Nicholls, Towson
Peterson is a player I personally think is underrated at this point but it’s many because he plays for some very talented teams in Bullis and DC Premier 16U, but his talent hasn’t gone unnoticed as he’s picked up three offers heading into his junior season. Peterson is a versatile forward who is athletic and runs in transition where he’s a good finisher, he plays with a very good motor hitting the glass and fighting for loose balls and he can stretch the floor with his ability to knock down shots.
Cole Bowser Cole Bowser 6'5" | SG DeMatha | 2025 State MD | 6’5” SF | DeMatha
Prep Hoops MD Ranking: #40
Spring/Summer Offers: ODU, Bryant, Towson, George Washington, Fairfield, Bryant
Bowser had a huge start to the summer and was one of the hottest prospects in the DMV in April and May, picking up 6 offers while showing his long term potential we’ve seen. At 6’5” he has very long arms and he’s a top tier shooter who can knock down shots in bunches from deep. He’s continuing to round out his game but with his blend of size, length and shooting ability out well past the NBA line will make him very intriguing to college coaches.
